“It’s a national issue. Look at how all the national Democratic candidates raised their hands in front of the world to support covering undocumented immigrants in health insurance,” Durazo told California Healthline. “We want a clear commitment to finally do this, not just lip service.”

Sad but true. These California lawmakers are also pushing for Universal Basic Income for all California resident legal or not.

They will not go bankrupt, the Republican control (anti-Trump, Rhinos or maybe that is what the Republican party is all along) senate will bail them out.

Republicans will bail all the bankrupt cities and states while screwing over the fly over country.

“$2.6 Billion annually to taxpayers in the state.”

“in the state” - I wish. For instance, some of that Covid Relief Bill money will probably cover some of that 2.6 billion.

Money that in the Way Olden Days (1960’s) would have been spent maintaining and building essential infrastructure. Really looking forward to handing 9% of my income to the state of CA this year so that it can be used against my society, which, in fact, increasingly is of the view that people like me should be wiped out.

No way. Never going to happen. Too many business interests want them here.

Government social services want them here because it guarantees them more money and job security.

Banks want them here because they make millions transferring money back to Mexico.

Employers want them here for cheap labor.

The Catholic church wants them here to boost its numbers.

Landlords want them here so they can keep the rent high and maintenance costs low.

I could go on but you get the picture.
