In a slew of important cases before the Supreme Court, Chief Justice John Roberts “has engaged in strategic maneuvering, observed Adrian Vermeule and Varad Mehta at The Washington Post:
Roberts' goal appears to be to preserve what he takes to be the legitimacy of the Supreme Court, by disproving any suspicion that the justices vote ideologically or otherwise engage in political behavior.”
The problem: “Because it is so clear that he is crafting opinions with this end in mind, the chief justice defeats his own aims.” His effective rewriting of the ObamaCare law in 2012 was the most notorious example. More recently, he held that while the administration could add a citizenship question to the Census, its reasons for seeking to do so were invalidly “pretextual.” Liberals and conservatives alike noticed that Roberts had tried too hard to strike a “Solomonic” posture. “That the strategy was so easy to detect and explain meant — paradoxically — that it had created an appearance of judicial politicking and was thus unsuccessful on its own terms.”

the criminal Roberts (Epstein ISLAND AND Malta)
does not follow US Law,
but lies to support Uranium 1 Treason
and sex and human trafficking.
He Lies about what is before him (”taxes”)
and got SCOTUS to abrogate its responsibility.
Tar and feathering is too good for Criminal Roberts.
I have not read the full article, but I will say there are only 2 Supreme Court Justices (Atlo and Thomas) that have America interests in mind. The rest of them sadly do not! Their decision not to take on Texas request was the turning point for America.
Once upon a time, Chief Justice Tawney sought a similar path. How did that work out?
I think this is a good analysis. I think it also explains Barr’s behavior.
They are so desperate to get a pat on the head from the left for their “fairness” and “impartiality” that they actually end up supporting the positions of the left and appearing very political indeed. And not necessarily on the side that they might be personally inclined to take.
Everybody has their weak point that can be exploited politically. For some, it’s money, and they can be bribed. For others, it’s the desire for approval, popularity with powerful people, and praise. I think this, as well as plain old cowardice, is what motivates both Barr and Roberts.
The NY Post editorial board has become a fulltime propaganda outlet. It is not some noble but misguided quest that Roberts is on!
It is complete BS. Roberts is as compromised as they come and Barr has been a Deep State swamprat and fixer for decades.
I was just thinking about Roberts.....would it be so hard to believe he has been compromised by Soros?
Every time I see his name, I think of the treachery of GWB!
That ship sailed years ago.
It is time for impeachment. Justice Roberts has been compromised somehow.
Swamp protects swamp.
Failed institutions. Interesting times.
I believe he is subject to the ravages of Blackmail.
Roberts is compromised he needs to step aside he is an enemy
WISCONSIN JUDGE: ‘Our Court System Has Been Deeply Intimidated by the Left’

A former Wisconsin state judge, who is now representing the Trump campaign in litigation in that state, testified before Congress that justice is not being served because of high-pressure intimidation tactics at the hands of the radical ideological Left.
James Troupis said he believes intimidation applied by the radical Left has prevented lawyers and judges from accepting and hearing election fraud cases.
“We have to acknowledge that the court system has been deeply intimidated by the left, just as the lawyers have been intimidated,” Troupis told the Senate Homeland Security & Governmental Affairs Committee Wednesday. “And that’s a sad, sad state of affairs.”...
“One of the reasons I was called [by the Trump team] is because virtually every major law firm in this country and in this city refused to represent the President, Troupis said. “Not because of the lack of merit in his claims – we’ve certainly demonstrated that there’s merit – but because of the cancel culture.”
“Because of the environment that has been created by the Left that has intimidated lawyers so that they can’t be here, they’re not here. They’re not here from the giant law firms, precisely because they were ordered by their management committees and others that, ‘You cannot take those cases. The reasons you cannot take those cases is because our clients, or the Democrat Party, or the incoming administration, will remember that and they will hold it against you.’”
Troupis added, “As a former judge, I was so incensed by that.”
Other lawyers who have stood to represent the President and his campaign have said they have been unmercifully harassed and/or threatened after deciding to take up election cases.
Trump campaign senior legal adviser, Jenna Ellis, said she’s received “hundreds” of threats since taking up the election cases. (Excerpt) Read more at nationalfile.com ...
Similar here. Quite often FReepers are dismayed by Roberts, “the conservative”, and how he is letting everyone down. My comeback is GWB was a RINO that allowed the infestation of leftism to continue to creep into the federal government and furthered it with some of his own agenda. Bush was a leftist. The second of a string of three for a solid 24 years.
It was not Epsteins plane..it did not go to epstein island..and on one of the days he had oral arguments that day and the day after. All of the above FACTS can be verified by anyone who takes a few minutes to do it.
Roberts is a disgrace. To himself, to his profession, to Americans and to America.
There seems to be a great desire here to excuse Robert’s by saying he has been “compromised,” although nobody can ever explain how or by what. Roberts is simply following his ego and he wants to be loved by our leftist masters.
He and Barr are both products of the system, although the system probably wasn’t that bad when they got their start, and they want to stay in with the in-crowd. It’s all ego.
