Medical experts weigh in on protesters’ anti-mask claims Public confused by ‘arbitrary nature’ of guidelines (Oh, I'm not confused)

When a small group of anti-lockdown protesters gathered in front of Mayor London Breed’s house Dec. 13, they said San Francisco’s shelter-in-place measures were too strict and mask mandates had gone too far.

Demonstrators, many of whom did not wear masks, carried signs that likened the recent shelter-in-place order to “voodoo science” and chanted slogans like, “Open S.F. now!”

“Our group is strongly opposed to masking children at any time,” protest organizer Daniel Kotzin said. “We are opposed to anyone wearing masks outside. We’re also against masks for anyone while they are exercising.”

Claim: Children are not at risk of contracting coronavirus As of Dec. 10, more than 1.6 million children had tested positive for COVID-19 in the United States, according to the American Academy of Pediatrics.

Claim: ‘Masking children is child abuse’ Wearing masks can present a speedbump for young children learning language and emotional expression, Lee said. “But these are very temporary changes and children are able to overcome them.”

Claim: Wearing masks causes oxygen deprivation People without respiratory illnesses who feel breathless while wearing a mask may be experiencing something akin to claustrophobia rather than oxygen deprivation, Sosa said.

“tested positive for COVID-19”
What a bullshit measurement. Last I heard, Coca Cola tested positive for COVID-19.
How many of them actually got sick from Chicom Flue? How many actually required hospitalization?
Close to zero, I bet

There are countless studies prior to Covid that show both masks and the arbitrary 6’ social distancing is ineffective at stopping the spread.

It is a simple fact. It was simple before Covid, but now if you point out the “science” you are suppressed, censored, and/or scorned.

Why is this important? Vulnerable people have a false sense of security because of masking and standing on stickers in retail establishments and elsewhere. It WILL NOT prevent you from contracting the virus. N95 masks do not stop viruses even assuming they are worn property (less than half that I see). Cloth masks, gaiters, etc are even worse.

If you think I am wrong simply compare the rate of infection in the states that were most draconian about lock-downs, shut-downs, masking, and social distancing. There is no data showing any positive effect.

I would argue that masking and social distancing in public is causing vulnerable people to venture out thinking they are secure. In other words, it is making things worse. The damage we are doing to the majority of people who have little to fear, businesses, and other ill effects to society are immeasurable and are WORSE than the obvious solution.

This virus is so smart it knows you are not vulnerable when sitting down to eat at a restaurant with your mask off, but it will attack you when you get up in the same restaurant to use the restroom.

The 6 ft “social distancing” garbage is almost as laughable as the mask garbage. Is the virus so smart that is knows where the 6 ft distance ends?

One virus particle to another: “oh crap, we’re at 6 ft, we can’t go any farther. Damn, and we almost had that guy!!”

My favorite of all of this nonsense is the curfews. Because the virus knows what time it is, and is 27% more deadly after 10pm just to teach the nonbelievers a lesson...

One hopes that this debacle ends with at least some politicians hanging from light poles, as a warning to future tyrants.
