Exactly. Give me V8 or Give me death.

LOL. Move over, Patrick Henry.

We could modernize the Gadsden flag motto for EV's too: "Don't discharge on me!"

Commuter cars. 300 mile range with a 10 min charge time(assuming their number) is not something you will drive across country in.

I believe Israel was going to have a cure for cancer by now also. I’m not going to believe any prognostications until they come to fruition.

I am an electrical engineer who has stated this before as have other EE’s, and Musk himself recently stated this:

Our power grid and power plants do not have the capacity for an EV world, and (most say) when we get to 5% of all vehicles being EV’s, it will begin to collapse. Rolling blackouts will likely be the only solution for more EV’s.

Both the grid infrastructure and the generation capacity are woefully short of what EV’s will need, and the costs are totally prohibitive of upgrading the capacity of both to meet the need of EV’s. Add to that that leftists will not allow new generation capacity of any kind and we are headed for disaster.

Experts know this, but the public is being deceived. EV’s are doomed in the long run.

We are mad racing for an EV world and will hit the brick wall of lack of capacity sooner rather than later - but then it will be too late.

Give me our gasoline and diesel engines.

Now might be the time to invest in junk yards for the future. Just like in Cuba.

Exactly, the potential for battery solutions is still 100 years out.

Japan may develop, but China will steal.

Well, the technology discussion is better than the original article, but still pretty lacking.

Most cars are for commuting. Electric cars might well be a good fit there. Maybe. They’d have to prove a new car was better and more cost-effective than my ancient (and paid for) Hyundai.
But if you want a reliable cargo or tow vehicle for bad weather and rough terrain, a gas or diesel can’t be beat.

Why can’t they produce an electric vehicle that has a belt driven generator that keeps the batteries charged all the time.

That’s one of my worries.
California is cutting off nat gas for home usage.
I imagine under Kamalamadingdong this will go nationwide.
Heat pumps are lousy and expensive for real cold climates

Nobody ever talks about the ridiculous power grid and the hundreds of billions it would take to upgrade it.

Gave you a starting point with training wheels.

There is lots of info on the solid state lithium batteries out there. How they work. How they are made. The chemistry. The performance. The players. All of it.

I mean the posted article is enough to launch your research. I put training wheels on it for you with my link. God forbid you need to do some real research.
