Retired Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn's Newsmax TV remarks on President Donald Trump weighing "martial law" and "military capabilities" amid election fraud has forced U.S. Army leaders to issue a statement Friday rejecting that consideration.
"There is no role for the U.S. military in determining the outcome of an American election," Army Secretary Ryan McCarthy and Army chief of staff Gen. James McConville wrote in a joint statement Friday.
The statement echoed one by Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Mark Milley before the election.
Gen. Flynn told Thursday's "Greg Kelly Reports":
"He could immediately on his order seize every single one of these machines around the country on his order. He could also order, within the swing states, if he wanted to, he could take military capabilities and he could place them in those states and basically rerun an election in each of those states. It's not unprecedented.
"I mean, these people are out there talking about martial law like it's something that we've never done. Martial law has been instituted 64 times."

Doesn’t the President have the authority to FIRE Milley?
It isn’t their call. Milley needs to fe shown the door.
Maybe not the regular Armed Forces, but the National Guard.
Seems like a lot of people are worried.
presuming the statement is accurate—
1. what happened to the frankfurt server evidence?
2. so are the last hopes presuming continuation of court passive aggressiveness are with the US Congress an VP Pence?
3. can enough swing state legislatures wake up and smell the coffee?
“The Army” has no opinion, only the President does.
This is why DJT has not done something like this drastic move - he’s alone.
I wonder what the USSC would say about this prospect? (The use of the military in this instance)
Retired swamp general.
martial: /ˈmɑrʃ(ə)l/
marshal: /ˈmɑrʃ(ə)l/
<s>Must be a coincidence!</s>
Should we be careful what we wish for? If the General Staff of the military decided to act on the President’s order, which side would they back?
I DO NOT TRUST Milley.
~~~~~~~~~~~~
Neither do I. I watched a video of him glad handing deep staters in the chamber before Trump arrived to deliver his 2020 SOTU. Milley has the wrong friends, and says the wrong things at the wrong times.
Trump is the modern Sun Tsu. He is permitting certain people in certain positions to show them for what they are (or are not, as the case may be).
Remove all SCOTUS justices except Thomas and Alito.
“There is no role for the U.S. military in determining the outcome of an American election,”
Does he mean: The US military would have no role in removing Trump from office if he refuses to leave after Jan. 20?
How many times have we heard those on the left speculate about using the military to remove Trump from office. Now we hear it ain’t going to happen.
I trust General Flynn to have insider information on what is on the table.
I think there’s technicalities to be followed re which force initiates (National Guard or other) but we don’t have to let China overthrow our country by stealing the 2020 election and leveraging bought out courts and officials.
as long as there are Constitutional mechanisms playing out the US military doesn’t need to be involved in any election at all whatsoever
Theirs ultimately is the defense of the Constitution when people start trying to play outside its boundaries.
