Sen. Ted Cruz Blocks Hong Kong Refugee Bill, Says It Would Give China An Opportunity To Send Spies To The U.S.

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) blocked a bill, which would grant Hongkongers a special refugee status. He asserted Beijing would exploit the bill’s weakened immigration policies and send spies into the United States.

On Friday, the Texas senator shot down the bill, citing the dangers of the Chinese Communist Party.

“The good news is that our Democrat colleagues are finally discovering that the Chinese communists are not our friends,” Cruz stated. “They are finally acknowledging that the Chinese communists are murdering, torturing, oppressive tyrants and our Democrat colleagues are likewise discovering that Hong Kong is a beacon for democracy…and liberty.”

The bill in question, titled the ‘Hong Kong People’s Freedom and Choice Act,’ was introduced by Rep. Tom Malinowski (D-N.J.) and Rep. Adam Kinzinger (R-Ill.).

Earlier this month, it passed in the House.

Didn’t they block Hong Kong refugees once before and it turned out to be a huge benefit for Toronto?

It would indeed help allow more Chinese spies to be infiltrated.

For inexplicable reason, Asians vote Democrat. So good. Too bad we cannot also shut down family-based migration.

But we missed our last chance to delay the immigration-obliteration of our country in the first two years of Trump.

Now we are clearly done for.

America of blessed memory.

Are they out of their minds? The House passed the bill on 12/7. Knowing full well how risky this is at this time.

“ (Qualifying nationals of a TPS-designated country may not be removed from the United States and shall have employment authorization while the designation is in effect.)”

Lol. The wealthy in this country are using China to do their dirty work. Cruz should know that.

I agree with Ted Cruz on this one. Granting special status to certain immigrants have unintended consequences and the Chicoms are crafty.

I’d like to trade BLM members for the USA flag waving people of Hong Kong.

I’m from Vancouver BC. Ever wonder the joke on why it’s called HONGcouver? That’s been since the 90’s. Imagine it now.

Yes. I believe that wave came from when the British were returning control of Hong Kong back to China.

“For inexplicable reason, Asians vote Democrat.”

How many Asian immigrants are on sites like this? In other words, they get most of their news in Asian, rather than English, so that’s what they believe. And one guess as to who controls the Asian-Language media. Finally, the GOP has been trying for decades to find someone fluent in speaking Asian, but no luck yet for them, so I think they’ve given up on that.

But actually, my biggest crackup are the ones from Taiwan that I work with. They were brainwashed to vote against Trump, and only now are they realizing that they soon won’t have a home country to take their kids to.

Cruz has a kind of a silly excuse, in as much as the enrollment of Chinese mainland citizens in American colleges and universities, as well as Chinese citizens getting STEM jobs all over U.S. corporations are both already major pipelines for Chinese spies. China has no need to infiltrate their spies among Hong Kong refugees, and many Democracy loving Hong Kong Chinese would make great American citizens one day.
