Big Apple eatery owners — already struggling to cope with a second shutdown of indoor dining amid the coronavirus pandemic — were thrown into a panic Thursday night when the Cuomo administration dropped new rules that barred patrons in outdoor spaces from using their indoor bathrooms.
The initial guidance, released publicly by Kapil Longani, counsel to Mayor Bill de Blasio, stated that “customers are not allowed to enter the inside of an SLA-licensed establishment for any reason while the guidance is in effect.”

Hello sidewalk my old friend, I’ve come to defecate again. 💩
Erich Fromm wrote a book titled Escape from Freedom, where he explained from a psychological perspective how entire populations tend to avoid the risks that come with true freedom, and embrace leaders who “take care” of them. This weakness runs deep in human nature, unfortunately.
Thank you for the reference. Although I have heard of Fromm’s work, I haven’t read this book. It appears I should. Warm wishes for a Merry Christmas (despite all the cr@p going on!) Cheers!
I have recently visited various State and Federal Parks. Public rest rooms are closed but they have conveniently provide Port-o-Potties.
Just how in [expletive deleted]is a Port-o-Potty cleaner, safer and less likely to spread disease than a properly maintained rest room with soap, flush toilets, and hot & cold running water?
It’s long since time to start ignoring these freaking idiots
We’d love to.but we get out voted by the down State homeless and illegals, govt employees, and probably rigged voting machines.
The simple solution is to ignore and defy.no cop wants to arrest someone for going to the restroom.
And he is looking at running for POTUS. He thinks his "tough guy" persona is going to do okay in the rest of the country. I think he is the most arrogant, a-hole that I have ever seen.
You know the democrats are just laughing at us and think of new ways to be a dic tator.
Bath rooms and drinking fountains have been closed for the last 9 months or so here in conservative central Illinois.
Why would anyone want to visit or live there?
...................................................
Because they have children, grand children and even great grand children living there.
Because they have careers that are not available to them elsewhere.
Doctors and medical care that they trust and rely on.
They simply don’t have the money to pack up and move.
I don’t live in New York, I live in smaller version of it, Illinois. My biggie is family— Brothers, sisters, children etc., not to mention a life time church family.
I was listening to Conservative morning AM radio in Chicago this morning and a guest talked about his group of resisters against the Illinois Governor’s lock down of Illinois restaurants. His group is ‘REBEL DINERS’.
Each week, more and more diners join his group and have dinners at restaurants that are struggling with all of the restrictions. 👍 🇺🇸 He is encouraging people to form similar groups nationwide.
ABOUT
REBEL DINERS
The Illinois Governor announced on October 20th, 2020 that a new round of stronger restrictions going into place that Friday. All six counties surrounding Chicago will not allow indoor dining.
Immediately a number of restaurants took to social media saying they can’t afford to do that and will defy the order.
That Friday Chuck, Matt and Tom met at a pizza place defying the order and discussed a way forward. “If these independent small businesses will defy the order for their livelihood, then we too must defy and support them”, and Rebel Diners was born. That weekend they began to reach out to their network and scheduled the 1st Rebel Diner lunch at one of the 1st restaurants to come out in defiance that following Tuesday.
12 diners joined together for a delicious meal and toasted the owner and his son. The owner was in tears thanking the Rebel Diners for their support. In addition, the diners left a tip for the server in excess of $400, and he too so humbly and graciously thanked each diner for their support.
The following week 21 Rebel Diners descended upon an establishment and positively impacted the owner and their staff.
The Rebel Diners have grown to 48 participants and continue weekly missions to help support the small business restaurateur.

This best advice is the simplest. It works well even in California where Koo-Moe's strongest competitor for the Tyrant of the Year award, Newsom the Vile, tries to rule.
Ditto for Upstate NY.
We just don’t eat out anymore.
And I’ve had it with biz owners who refuse to fight for their own existence.
If they can’t be bothered, I’m not going to waste my money on them.
