Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti said Thursday evening that he had turned down an offer to join President-elect Joe Biden’s Cabinet, despite speculation that he would be rewarded for his early endorsement of the former vice president with a post.
“Joe Biden has told me for the last two years that he was very interested in me coming to Washington, D.C., and there were things on the table for me,” Garcetti said.

He doesn’t want to be named to the cabinet, only to be booted soon after by the Ho.

LA would find someone equally idiotic to replace him, trust me. My wife was so anxious to flee LA County that she married me back in 1984. It has gone downhill ever since.
Even the nicer towns like Glendora, Covina, Azusa and San Marino. She will go back for a visit to eat at favorite restaurants and the like, but only in the daylight hours.

I know - I lived in LA until 1998. These days Tom Bradley looks like a genius compared to Garcetti.

Agree, but confess that I always felt it appropriate that the $#ittiest airport in the country (LAX) had their main terminal named after Tom Bradley. The #2 $#ittiest airport would be JFK and seems well-run by comparison.
It is no wonder people drive out to Ontario, Long Beach, Burbank or Orange County to avoid the LAX ordeal. I was on an overbooked flight out of ONT one evening. There were no takers for $300 in travel vouchers to take a later flight, so I went to the agent and asked them what they could do if I volunteered. They arranged me a private limo to LAX, a first class seat to Memphis for a plane change (instead of Atl), a seat upgrade to Pittsburgh and a mere hour later arrival. I took it! Even at that late hour, traffic into LAX was still so bad I still had to hustle to make the connection.

Biden’s choices have to worry about whether or not Commylala will keep them on after Biden resigns in a year or two.

I used to fly from LAX to the Bay Area every weekend in the '90s using the late, great Reno Air. It was a breeze then - get out of work in Santa Monica, drive down to LAX, use short-term parking and just walk over the bridge to the security gates.
I flew into LAX last year - what a mess. Apparently short-term parking in the central hub of LAX is a thing of the past. Taking the shuttle to the Uber pick up area and then watching the poor driver try to crawl out of the lot took over half an hour.

I think that Garcetti is hoping Newsome will move on and he can become governor of CA first.
But sucks for him because there are more liberal Dems in Northern Cal than Southern Cal. Northern Cal always counts their votes last. So NoCal candidates always win over SoCal candidates.
Garcetti needs to have a powwow with Villaraigosa.

Every LA Mayor thinks they’re gonna be the next Governor, then President.

Must not have been a prestigious enough cabinet post.
