Sen. Mitt Romney (R-Utah) on Thursday said it was "stunning" for the White House to not issue a response regarding multiple alleged U.S. government cyber attacks stemming from Russia.
The senator from Utah tweeted an abbreviated version of the statement he told SiriusXM’s Chief Washington Correspondent Olivier Knox in a prerecorded interview, noting the recent reports of Russian hacks into government agencies showed "alarming U.S. vulnerability" and "apparent cyber warfare weakness."
“I think the White House needs to say something aggressive about what happened. This is almost as if you had a Russian bomber flying undetected over the country, including over the nation's capital, and not to respond in a setting like that is really stunning," Romney told Knox.

Re cyber threat from China.
Not to give too much away but I know for a fact that this has been the FedGov advisory to critical industries since @2010. China is threat #1. Their constant and vast and complex attempts to break through US systems defenses is entirely malicious. Other bad actors generally are after money. China is out to destroy, or to put in trojans or backdoors to use as needed come the day.
This stupid imbecile wants us to respond before we even know the full extent of what happened. Just shooting off his ignorant mouth again.
I instinctively react negatively to any attempt to censor any other Freeper from posting relevant news and I especially object to any attempt to censor what I can read.
This might be a very important piece of news to ponder, if you were wondering why it should be posted. Romney is laying down markers for a potential presidential run or for a potential power grab to run the Senate. Maybe he is laying the groundwork to jump parties. Maybe he is trying to lead the rump of the Republican Party back to the George Bush establishment if and when Republicans split.
He is distancing himself from Trump, he is establishing himself as a hawk on a new crusade, cybersecurity. At worst, he is establishing himself as a swing vote in the Senate playing much the same role that Justice Kennedy or Chief Justice Roberts enjoyed for a period on the court.
Conservatives should stay informed to stay a jump ahead of this conscienceless opportunist.
