try making sure the Failbook app on your phone:
- cannot access location services
- cannot run in the background
see if the snooping disappears

I am a former academic librarian. I am very aware of Lexis Nexis. If you never use your real name they have a hard time tracking you. My emails are not under my real name. no account is under my real name (Except for commercial accounts where I buy stuff online) so it is possible they could track that I like Diadora Shoes and drive a Mazda.
I also periodically purge databases of my name.
I am not quite an online ghost, but I’m close.

Facebook blasts Apple for not allowing Facebook to track iPhone/iPad users for advertising purposes, claiming that Facebook is standing up for small businesses. BULL PUCKY!
I have a FaceF**k account to view pictures of my grandkids, but often see the sponsored ads that FB sends my way. These ads are frequently SCAMS claiming to be supposedly selling real products such as a four-seater electric automobile for $169.99 shipping included! These vehicles actually exist, but sell for over $8000, FOB factory, without batteries. Similar ads for a garden tractor for $119.99 with all accessories on FB, but actually retails for $1999.99 without accessories. But when I flag them to FaceF**K, the complaint is routinely ignored.
These ads are replete with users who are commenting about how they’ve paid their money and eagerly awaiting delivery of their cars. Other similar ads are for expensive, very detailed fully assembled models of spacecraft for $29.99, shipping included... also existing products which retail for almost $500.00 as a DIY kit. . . Again, shipping not included. More SCAMS. There’s a whole industry of scammed R/C models being scammed for under $30 of R/C models that sell for over $400 retail, with the scams being pushed at Christmas as gifts. Yet, FB does nothing to protect their members and viewers.
Often FB’s moderators REMOVE my warning posts these are ads SCAMS and I’ve been given timeouts for violating their rules for posting warnings. FaceF**k is willing to accept the ad revenue for these SCAM ads but completely unwilling to even minimally curate the obvious scamming content of these scams. BAH! —PING!

“I have a FB account. It is under a pseudonym, with the wrong age, and interest. The only targeted adverts I get are for products I do not like or want. I feel like I am costing them money by tracking a ghost.”
*************************************************************
But Facebook also tracks your IP address used. Your IP address is NOT a ghost.

FB is worse than twit-ter in my estimation. I routinely get banned for 30 days at a time and now most recently 90 days because I posted “Everyone I don’t agree with is Hitler” meme.

On my phone, I didn’t sign in or use it. Does that mean it’s somehow active on my iPhone?

The Facebook ad I get all the time shows a giant pile of firewood and says the price is $40.

My IP address is a VPN. So yes, I am an IP address ghost, Cyber Ghost, in fact, is the name of the company.

I have an app called “FaceBook Container” installed in the browser that prevents FB from tracking me as well.
I have a normal Yahoo X 2, Gmail X1, outlook X1, and rocketmail X1 accounts. But, for important things, I use encrypted Protonmail.

My browser deletes the cache when I turn off the computer so there is no record websites I visit.

Very good... you’ve got your PII well protected.

I’m not sure if they force the installation on the iphone. Android devices don’t give you the option to get rid of it so you have to go in to the root of the operating system.

I don’t care much for either company. Apple puts up a pretense of defending the privacy of their users but really it’s more just a turf war against their rivals. I do use an iPhone but it’s 6 years old and I absolutely refuse to spend $1200 for a new one.
