The Party of Trump
Dec. 15, 2020 | Slyfox

Do ya'll remember the Country Club Republicans? They held sway over the GOP for many years. East Coasters like Nelson Rockefeller and the Bushes. None of them liked Ronald Reagan, but we did. They did everything they could to side-line our dear Ronnie.

True patriotic Republicans have had to put up with being dismissed by the Country-Clubbers, we were not hoity-toity enough for them. Or pro-choice enough for them.

Then comes the TEA Party which embarrassed the crap out of them. The George Will's of the world denigrated us. The Karl Rove's of the world worked to displace us. But then Donald Trump came along and without a stitch of blue-bloodness in his system he got our motors running.

The Country-Clubbers have morphed into Never-Trumpers.

Well, guess what? The GOP is now the Party of Trump.

Oliver Wendall Holmes once said that a mind that is stretched by a new experience can never go back to its old dimensions.

The Party of Trump will never go back to being second place because we are this country's truest citizens.

If they aren’t true to Republican principles, then what does it matter if they *call* themselves Republicans?

Some of do not care for the cult of personality, be it Trump, Reagan or any other human being. I don’t LIKE any politician whatsoever, the ONLY thing that matters are the issues and a person’s position on them.

The thing real Americans need to do is not buy things made in China. We can control that.

In buying new furniture, I opted for Made in America even though it is more expensive and I have to wait for it to arrive due to Covid. Plenty of Chinese made crap readily available, but not in my house.

'I am always skeptical of people who demean Ronald Reagan. '

I am always skeptical of people who don't bring up the faults of the gop and Reagan. Amnesty. That one has haunted us forever, and the cult of free trade. The gop had a chance to be conservative years ago. Amnesty has finished off the country.

Biden and crew will push such actions and the gop will love every bit of it. The gop senators will help to import more h1b workers for the 'economy' and the rest of America will continue to fade away.

We should NEVER be the party of a particular politician.

Most of us aren't, even though we might have described ourselves as Reagan Republicans or Goldwater Republicans. Even now, the Bannons and Codevillas are developing the philosophical and legislative underpinnings for what Trump does by instinct.

I was a hesitant Trump supporter because of past statements on being "pro-choice", tabloid behavior and donations to pols like Ted Kennedy. He not only offered people like me seat at the table, but he has governed like one of us despite a barrage that outdid the attacks on Reagan, Justice Thomas, and Robert Bork put together. That has earned the loyalty of many that might look like a "cult" to others.

Viva President Trump!

The existing republican party needs to be dismembered starting 1/20/2021 and from the ashes a new party will rise. Refuse to support the ones that have abandoned us and our President.

When history reviews all of the bad and rotten apples in the barrel of the Trump administration it will find the smelly carcass of Mitch McConnell at the bottom. It was McConnell that provided all the names of Judges and the other losers that he and his criminal buddies could get confirmed that in turn did everything they could to sabotage President Trump.
It was McConnell that allowed the farce of impeachment to continue while the rats were planning the next stage of their coup.

President Trump’s biggest mistake was entering into the enemy camp and trusting them to work for him.

Nothing worthwhile is easy. I refuse to fund the people who want to destroy us.

I worship the Constitution, not any person.

Sort of like worshiping the Bible but not The Christ, got it.

Well, guess what? The GOP is now the Party of Trump.

I think he is talking about the people of the party, not the power brokers, because they clearly are anti-Trump.

“I worship the Constitution, not any person.”

The Constitution is just the scribblings of a person though...

If they aren’t true to Republican principles

You mean globalism, destruction of US manufacturing, unlimited immigration, and usury? THOSE Republican Party principles?
