Texas State Rep Wants to Make It Harder for Gun Owners to Defend Their Homes

Texas state Rep. Terry Meza (D) introduced a bill that would make it harder for gun owners to use the state's "castle doctrine" against home invaders. The "castle doctrine" allows residents to use deadly force to protect their property.

Meza's bill, HB 196, has already caused a lot of controversy and in a series of tweets on her Twitter account, she said it does not repeal the "castle doctrine," it only would "require a homeowner to exhaust the potential of safely retreating into their habitation before using deadly force in defense of themselves or their property."

Meza says the reason why she introduced the bill is because the current doctrine "emboldens people to take justice into their own hands. While theft is obviously wrong, we have laws to address that. I don’t believe that stealing someone’s lawn ornament should be an offense punishable by death."

Well it it were a troll............... Like you, rep meza. So, a question for rep meza. Do you leave your house unlocked 24/7/365? Do you leave the keys in your car unlocked whenever you go out? Maybe with your purse on the passenger seat as an added incentive to meet new and interesting people?

Get rid of police, take away your right to defend yourself...

Sounds like somebody wants somebody...dead.

Sort of like what they tried to do with Vito Corleone?

The goal is to allow the “oppressed” underclass to waltz in and take what is “rightfully” theirs from us their “oppressors.”

In other areas, the dems are proposing laws that prevent prosecution of their favorite demographic for minor crimes, like stealing from Whitey, attacking Whitey, breaking into Whitey’s cars, and killing Whitey.

Yes, so we should raise the stakes by posting all his holdings of gold, cash, guns, etc. on the Dark Web and sitting back and watching him get blasted by the very folks he’s “standing up for.”

The rent-a-cops at the guard shacks at his gated community aren’t fools. They’d take a powder, pronto.

And if by lawn ornament, you mean my car? And the perp is threatening me with bodily harm if I try to stop him?

Horse thieves used to be summarily hanged.

If the thieves realize how important personal property is to those from whom they would steal,
maybe they would get a real job instead?

They can have my garden gnome when they pry it from my cold dead hands.

It’s my garden gnome, paid for by my getting up every morning and going to work.

Anyway, not sure a blast of rock salt in the butt is fatal. May keep someone from sitting on it & plotting crimes

Texas’ law about using lethal force to defend property is an excellent one, and should be emulated by every state.

No big surprise as for one she is a woman and for the other she is a socialist, so this shouldn’t be a surprise at all and could be expected.

= = =

Yep. The law says don’t steal.

Which has devolved into catch and release.

require a homeowner to exhaust the potential of safely retreating into their habitation before using deadly force in defense of themselves or their property.

I leave aside that no American should be required to retreat inside his own home.

Suppose that after this malefactor forces his way into my home he comes between me and my loved ones.

Am I required to retreat away from my loved ones leaving them to the mercy of a criminal that broke in to my castle?

I don’t see that happening.

I don’t see myself in this situation as taking justice into my own hands.

I see myself as Dr. Kevorkian assisting the criminal in ending his life.

When the Criminal breaks into my home he is committing suicide, I am merely assisting him in his quest for the sweet release of death.

You didn’t build that or earn that.

They want more rights for the 3rd worlders, gang-bangers, and criminals then you & your family “Law-Abiders”.

You can’t protect yourself!
You cannot defend your property!
You need to just let em’ take it!

PS: Kindly get on your knees after they rob you of everything so they can cleanly execute you.

Anybody else need more proof that Dems & Libs are evil to the core criminals who want you dead?

They’ve been murdering unborn babies with impunity for half a century.

They want to make it real easy to confiscate our properties.
That’s the end game.
