The PA response to the Texas suit is up.

Was this written by a CNN constitutional scholar? All the talking points are in it. Too late, too early, this has been ruled on previously. And written with a very condescending attitude towards the court.

I am less optimistic after reading the PA response. How do Trump’s lawyers respond to IV B of the response? Even if the state issued an unconstitutional policy, the voters of who followed it should not be disenfranchised. They followed the law. Taking away their votes is a harsh remedy for a mistake by the State.

PA claims a) lacks the seriousness deserving of original jurisdiction; b) any claims can be heard in lower courts.

The first argument strikes me as ludicrous given the claims made by Texas; and the second as ludicrous given the time constraints.

Before I scan it I’m going to guess how many times COVID is mentioned. I’ll say 25. Back in a minute....

Well, I was wrong. COVID is only mentioned 4 times.

“The PA response to the Texas suit is up.”

Wow, the petulance is dripping in that document.

I stopped reading after the first two sentences of the PA response. Same claims as before, fraudulent voting? Nothing to see here.

Since Election Day, State and Federal courts throughout the country have been flooded with frivolous lawsuits aimed at disenfranchising large swaths of voters and undermining the legitimacy of the election. The State of Texas has now added its voice to the cacophony of bogus claims.

The Pennsylvania document is about what I would expect.

One side says “Yes we do” and the other says “No you don’t”

That’s it???

That reads like they just kept or captured the text from a CNN broadcast, and submitted it to the Supreme Court...

Full of ‘baseless’ and ‘Without evidence’ And a lot of name-calling.

Thanks for the .pdf of the response.

I’m not impressed with their logic and nothing can defend their actions in this election.

I’m not a lawyer.

It is true that the Supreme Court is prone to protecting DC and the system. It should be an unbiased interpreter of the law as it exists. Will they do that? Unsure.

But we have a better shot at it now than when President Trump was elected.
