New York State Attorney General Letitia James said Tuesday on ABC’s “The View” that President Donald Trump could not “avoid justice” in New York even with a possible maneuver like stepping down before January 20 and having a then-sworn-in President Mike Pence pardon him.
James said, “The vast majority of legal scholars have indicated that he cannot pardon himself. What he could do is step down and allow the vice president, Vice President Pence, to pardon him. In all likelihood, I suspect he’ll pardon his family members, his children, his son-in-law, and individuals in his administration, as well as some of his close associates. And then I suspect at some point he’ll step down and allow the vice president to pardon him.”
She added, “Now, it’s important to understand he’s pardoned from federal crimes, but he is not pardoned from state crimes. Last year I introduced a bill in the state legislature which would close the pardon loophole so that individuals such as the president of the United States would not evade justice. It’s important that we have this check on presidential powers and that the state legislature. I’m so happy they passed that bill, and it’s now the law in the state of New York. President Trump cannot avoid justice in the great state of New York.”

For what, lady? Or is that the wrong term to use for her? Another one who rode her authority farther than it was meant to carry her!! Drunk with power is the phrase that fits 99.0% of these pols today! When does THEIR TIME COME DUE? Never? Sure seems to be the case more and more. We haven’t seen a whole lot of justice in recent years by these types. Not one of them does anything for the country - it’s all to get and retain power!
The other thing they dont understand is that what they are proposing is the transition of the US from a first world country where we allow leaders after they serve to live out their lives in peace, to becoming a 3rd world hellhole where we attempt to punish them once out of power. I really dont think most of the country would stand for that ... as they used to say ... thems fightin words.

She ran on the platform of getting President Trump and his family. She is right that a Presidential pardon has no effect on state charges. Unless someone stops her, and who in NY will, she will find something to charge him & his family will. Since his businesses are many and complex, I have no doubt she’ll find something, a ham sandwich so to speak.
No one, least of all President Trump should or will be surprised by this. This woman will use the resources of the state of New York to try to destroy him. Things are going to get ugly.
These people are downright evil. President Trump is one of the greatest Presidents in history. They are so so so so envious and yes, even jealous of him and his family.. They don’t care about the quality of life for the American citizens. They are first class losers and if the truth be known, even they know they are.
These are bumper sticker threats. I’ve never heard any in depth analysis of what President Trump is supposedly being charged with. Because they don’t know, he’s done nothing wrong I’m sure there’s are WH legal staff who scurutinize every fart that is produced is legally scrutinize before its release.

I heard a rumor that a “pardon swap” was entertained by Trump insiders where the governor of New York would grant a NY state pardon in a swap for a presidential federal pardon.
If there is truth to this it means someone has the goods on the governor.
