Report: Gavin Newsom's team 'increasingly concerned' about recall efforts
SFGATE ^ | 12/09/2020 | Eric Ting

"As Newsom begins his third full year in office, the governor’s team is increasingly concerned with a long-shot conservative recall that could mushroom into a major threat in 2021 if it attracts significant financial support."

"Sources close to Newsom said the governor's office has been disorganized over the past month and has not responded effectively to damaging headlines" including his French Laundry trip, controversial new stay-at-home order and delay in naming Vice President-elect Kamala Harris' replacement in the United States Senate. In addition, most of the state's public schools remain closed while they are open in other deep blue states...

“Every day he gives us a new and interesting reason for people to sign,” retired Yolo County Sheriff’s Department sergeant and recall leader Orrin Heatlie told Matier.

Trump received more votes in CA in 2020 than he did in 2016. At least legal ones.

Some parents on my Facegroup group now see the error of their ways and regret Dems and especially teachers unions.

One problem: there are MILLIONS of female Dem teachers in the state. They all vote. Think of it—everyone has a family member who is a teacher.

Newsom & Company are right to be concerned. Look what happened to Gray Davis. Davis was hit with an almost perfect storm, every bit of which was of his own making.

Remember the terms hubris and karma, on the flip side of arrogance and irrational exuberance.

Why should Newsom be worried?

CA uses Dominion machines, so the fix is in even if the Recall works and he has to face an election.

I have met a number of Republicans who want to run.

From San Diego to Yolo County there are a few that want to replace him.

Our best hope currently is Kevin Faulkner and he is kind of squishy too.

First, clean your election rules and voter rolls. You will surely reduce the liberal clout, and eventually turn into a much more representative and conservative state government.

The “armor” that COVID gave these little dictators is beginning to weaken. People are sick of all this, and VERY suspicious.

Dominion machines have unique software—may not work well with referendums if that was not in the design specs.

you know CA is a cancer upon the country... that’s nice FR servers sit there or whatever and californians donate... means nothing in regard to california being the cauldron from which the most toxic of brews spews forth.

My understanding is that California’s threshold for getting a recall petition on the ballot is based on a percentage of the population that voted in the last election. Davis was recalled in 2003, and they only needed something like 900,000 signatures on the recall petition — in a state with more than 30 million people — because the voter turnout in the 2002 election was abysmally low.

Yes he did. He got a lot more votes, about 1.5 million more
if I remember accurately.

Biden drew far more than Hillary.
