Update (1515ET): Just twelve hours after it was filed, the US Supreme Court has officially put Texas's lawsuit against Georgia, Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin on the docket, meaning the case will be heard.

I don't know why people worry about Roberts. He is now a nonentity on the court.
We have a de facto Thomas court.
Respectfully, the less attention given Roberts the better. He’s no factor anymore. I don’t care what he does, frankly; as long as we have the ‘constitutional five’. BTW, five is the number of Grace, so there you go!
Dershowitz may be correct...
If it fails, it will be due to the constraints of Federalism...States have constitutional rights over their own elections...not sure there is any overlap with the election decisions and processes of other states...?
I like the sound of that.
This may well be the opening shot in the "Ken Paxton for Governor" campaign.
Pray that they rise to the challenge!
Pray that they be as wise as the Founding Fathers and as courageous as the American boys (most of the less than 21 years old!) who walked directly into machine gun fire on the beaches of Normandy in 1944.
What does “docket,” used as a verb, mean?
I’m not qualified to make predictions, but it seems the second remedy you point to has more of a chance should the SCOTUS deign to hear it.
R I G H T my brother! God Checkmated and Trumped everybody with the passing of RBG (on Rosh Hashanah no less) and seating of ACB. That was His Preview of coming attractions!
The future of the country rests in the hands of five Justices.

The future of the Supreme Court is also at stake. Biden will eviscerate the Court if he wins, a fact not lost on the justices at this juncture.
TX did not file a petition for a writ of certiorari, in which case you would be correct - docketing it doesn’t mean that the petition would be granted. Been there.
This is what TX filed: MOTION FOR PRELIMINARY INJUNCTION AND TEMPORARY RESTRAINING ORDER OR, ALTERNATIVELY, FOR STAY AND ADMINISTRATIVE STAY
Ken Starr just said 4 or 5 had to agree to hear....he wasn’t sure about a case appealed directly to SC, rather than up from lower courts.
It bodes well. They’ll likely remand to state legislatures who should be emboldened by this decision from on high.
How many votes does this affect ?
Texas could reasonably argue that if its officials knew the machines were unreliable, officials of the other states either also knew or should have known.
This can be the 'live thread' until Jim agrees on a better 'live thread'. But we will need a 'live thread' from here to the Order.
We need every possible amicus argument centralized into one thread; we need an evidence catalog in that same thread; that evidence catalog needs citations, preferably foregoing/ongoing court decisions. So if you contribute please post LINKS.
Please limit any vanity on Texas and instead contribute to whatever the 'live thread' is at the moment.
Listen, I'm no Buckhead and I never will be, but we now have what every FReeper wanted -- a foot in the SCOTUS door.
Let us not waste this precious moment. "It's a Republic, if you can keep it."
That guy gets creepier every time I see him.,
UUUUUGHH.
States not following the Constitutional process of their legislators setting the procedures is a Federal Constitutional issue.
Furthermore, other states have standing as they are part of the Federal Constitutional contract especially as it relates to elections.
Just in at 17:45 pm EST ... I guess it’s over? “Supreme Court Rejects Bid To Decertify Biden’s PA Win; No Explanation, No Dissents”
Thank you, Lord, Jesus! Please deliver us from this evil. We need our President protected and have him for four more years.
Talk about Karma and it’s related bitchyness.
Biden was an absolute a hole to Clarence Thomas when he was going through his senate hearings back in the 90’s.
A little background. When Ken Paxton (Texas AG) was elected, the dims went after him like a pack of wolves. He didn’t back down and fought them big time.
He filed this lawsuit.
