The Chicago Teacher Union unleashed this pearl on an unsuspecting world Sunday.
Since we knew they would delete it, we preserved it in digital amber.
The union offered no explanation, evidence, or any other factual support for its hot take, probably figuring that including the three magic words would just do the trick on their own. But they’re not, and the tweet is being given its due even after the CTU attempted to get rid of it.

I agree with the union. The schools should all be closed and all employees laid off. It would be racist to do otherwise.
But I'm still trying to figure out the sexist and misogynistic part. Maybe they only let male students attend the schools in Chicago?
People in my area don’t understand that the reason the schools are closed is because the teachers union refuses to teach children in person. When I explain that to them they look at me like I just informed them that Betty Crocker isn’t actually hot (yeah, I know she must be but just needed an example). Confusion, denial, then a smidgen of anger. Because many of them are struggling mightily because having the kids home makes it hard for them to be outside the home working. And they need paychecks.
Box stores like home depot, lowes, sams club, walmart are open staffed and working through out the pandemic and Small businesses are still closed This virus has not effected children at all whats thier excuse????

In Fairfax County, VA, the union is saying they will not return until September 2021.
If this were happening 30 years ago when my kids were in grade school I’d be happy not to send them to these communist indoctrination camps. Thank God I taught them to be of critical minds and patriots.
They want more paid days off. Maybe forever.
If kids are NOT going to go to school, can we stop FUNDING the schools?
AND grocery workers, walmartians, targeteers, etc are not lying dead in the aisles...not even coughing much.

Contract space from Churches which are also hurting, rent space from small business (restaurants/bars with seating capacity)...spaces on lockdown.

This situation has led many parents who accepted sub-par schools because they only sought daycare to face the fact that they’ve lost the daycare as well...
