Austin, Texas, Mayor Steve Adler is claiming he’s no hypocrite for vacationing in Mexico while telling residents to stay home due to COVID-19.
But his claim that the situation worsened only after he traveled is belied by releases from his own office.
Adler, a Democrat, said in a video posted Wednesday night he’s sorry for setting a “bad example” by taking the trip, but that he actually complied with his own health guidance when he embarked for the beach at Cabo San Lucas.
The mayor hosted a wedding for his daughter in Austin two days before he filmed his infamous Nov. 9 Facebook video message from Mexico, urging viewers to “stay home if you can” because “this is not the time to relax.”
Adler on Wednesday invoked a color-coded city chart in his defense.

Mexico has warned against tourist travel for over a month. Their death rate is somewhere around 10%.
Their oppressive rules are for the common people. The peeps. The sheeple.
The proponents of socialism and communism, the elites, do not expect to have to follow the rest of the population in going without.
They'll live in luxury and get fat eating high off the hog.
Those who don't go along with these separate sets of rules, historically have been eliminated. As in murdered. Killed. By the millions.
Everyone else will be equally miserable in their poverty and hunger. But the elites don't play by those rules.
