House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff, one of the leading proponents of Robert Mueller’s special counsel investigation, said Tuesday he opposes Attorney General William Barr’s decision to appoint U.S. Attorney John Durham as special counsel in an investigation into the origins of the Trump-Russia probe.
In an interview on MSNBC, Schiff suggested that the attorney general in the Biden administration should assess Durham’s mandate and decide whether to allow the prosecutor to continue his investigation.
“In an appointment secretly conferred on Durham prior to the election…Barr is using the special counsel law for a purpose it was not intended: to continue a politically motivated investigation long after Barr leaves office,” Schiff said in a statement on Tuesday after Barr said he had appointed Durham to the special prosecutor role on Oct. 19.
It is a stark about-face for Schiff, who was one of Congress’ most vocal defenders of the special counsel investigation led by Mueller, a former FBI director.
Schiff called on lawmakers in September 2018 to pass legislation to protect the Mueller probe in case President Donald Trump tried to shut down the investigation.
“The best thing we can do…is to take up this bill to protect Mueller so we don’t invite a constitutional crisis,” Schiff said in an interview on Sept. 26, 2018.
While Mueller investigated the activities of Trump, members of his campaign and other associates, Durham has investigated the intelligence-gathering activities of the FBI, CIA and other agencies related to the Trump campaign in 2016.

Director of National Intelligence John Ratcliffe on Tuesday revealed a bombshell allegation that Hillary Clinton ordered “a campaign plan to stir up a scandal” by linking President Trump to Russia in 2016 — and that then-President Barack Obama knew about her possible role.
Ratcliffe disclosed the information in a letter published by Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) just hours before Trump debates Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden, who was vice president at the time.
Clinton’s alleged July 2016 plot would tar Trump by “tying him to [Russian President Vladimir] Putin and the Russians’ hacking of the Democratic National Committee,” Ratcliffe wrote Graham, the chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee.
Handwritten notes by then-CIA Director John Brennan, who now is a fiery anti-Trump commentator, say that Brennan briefed Obama on “alleged approval by Hillary Clinton on July 26, 2016 of a proposal from one of her foreign policy advisors to vilify Donald Trump by stirring up a scandal claiming interference by Russian security services.” ...”

Fox News’ Ed Henry reported Tuesday evening that Acting Director of National Intelligence Richard Grenell has declassified information calling into question the conclusion that Russia interfered in the 2016 election to help Donald Trump.
Henry told Tucker Carlson on Tucker Carlson Tonight that the new information would suggested John Brennan, who headed the Central Intelligence Agency under President Barack Obama, “also had intel saying, actually, Russia wanted Hillary Clinton to win because she was a known quantity, she had been secretary of state, and Vladimir Putin’s team thought she was more malleable, while candidate Donald Trump was unpredictable.”
Former National Security Council chief of staff Fred Fleitz made a similar claim in an article on FoxNews.com April 22:
House Intelligence Committee staff told me that after an exhaustive investigation reviewing intelligence and interviewing intelligence officers, they found that Brennan suppressed high-quality intelligence suggesting that Putin actually wanted the more predictable and malleable Clinton to win the 2016 election.
Instead, the Brennan team included low-quality intelligence that failed to meet intelligence community standards to support the political claim that Russian officials wanted Trump to win, House Intelligence Committee staff revealed. They said that CIA analysts also objected to including that flawed, substandard information in the assessment.
On Tuesday, Henry said that he had obtained independent confirmation of the claims made by Fleitz in that report.
For three years, the received wisdom in Washington has been that 17 intelligence agencies concluded that Russia had interfered in the election to help Trump win. It then transpired that only four agencies had actually been involved.
The Senate Intelligence Committee, chaired by embattled Republican Sen. Richard Burr (R-NC), issued a report last month that appeared to confirm the work of the intelligence agencies.
However, that conclusion may soon be contradicted.
President Trump has accepted the claim that Russia interfered in the election — though he does not believe Russia actually helped him win, and he has publicly cast doubt on the idea that Russia preferred him over Clinton, his Democratic rival.
Breitbart News noted in 2017: “[T]he Russians may just as well have preferred Hillary Clinton, who had given Russia everything it wanted while serving as President Barack Obama’s Secretary of State — from the ill-fated “reset,” to a surrender of U.S. missile defenses in Eastern Europe, to the sale of 20% of America’s uranium reserves to a Russian company closely tied to the Russian state.”

Acting Director of National Intelligence Richard Grenell is working to declassify documents relating to the investigations of Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election and, according to Fox News’ Ed Henry, some of those declassified documents will actually show a Russian effort to benefit Hillary Clinton during the election, not Donald Trump.
Henry told Fox News host Tucker Carlson on Tuesday’s “Tucker Carlson Tonight” that four or five new batches of intelligence are being declassified, one of which contains an assessment that Brennan sought to suppress, showing that Russia wanted Clinton to win. ...”

It turns out that Igor Danchenko, the man the FBI suspected of being an actual Russian spy, initially provided the bogus information about the American, Carter Page, through a former British spy, Christopher Steele.
Through a couple of cut-outs, Steele had been retained by the Clinton campaign to dig up — or, alas, to make up — Russian dirt on Trump. Through his private intelligence business in London, Steele was known to be working for Russian oligarchs, while Danchenko was on Steele’s payroll.
That is, the Clinton campaign, and ultimately the Obama administration, colluded with Russians for the purpose of accusing Donald Trump of . . . yes . . . colluding with Russians.”

In 2017, Shifty Schiff, the ranking Democrat on the House Intelligence Committee, which was/is investigating the Trump campaign for possible collusion with RUSSIA, was caught on audio colluding with someone HE BELIEVED was a Russian agent! He was looking for “dirt” on Trump...from Russians! ie, “naked Trump”. Lol!
Turned out they were Russian pranksters pretending they were agents! Still, the lying little pencil neck weasel Schiff BELIEVED they were REAL Russian agents!

Shiff is a primary example of how clueless California voters are. They keep electing Democratic losers like Shiff, Pelosi and Newsome that have done nothing but enrich themselves and run the state into bankruptcy. E.G. Pelosi eating her $94/gallon ice cream while less than a mile from her house people are living and dying in the streets.
Schiff should have been indicted for lying to Congress, during his little impeachment soliloquy.
