Well, the governor in question has a mixed record at best at clairvoyance, and churches are not notorious for endangering people (and spare me the Jonestown reference; everyone knows about Jonestown precisely because it is extremely anomalous. Governments have their won Wacos to explain).

I think Roberts was a stealth leftist. When he was the swing vote, he could argue with the conservative justices that if they wanted him to join their decision, then they needed to water it down enough to be acceptable to the Left.
