While it is true that the clock is ticking, a technicality should not be an obstacle to justice.
The letter of the Constitution should not be a shield against the subversion of the spirit of the Constitution.
If the fraud is as broad and pervasive as it seems to be, it amounts to a wholesale subversion of the spirit of the Constitution, and SCOTUS must allow justice to prevail, even allowing for changes in the Constitutionally mandated timelines for Presidential succession.
Otherwise all future fraud attempts will succeed if they can use the tight timelines as a "built-in guarantee" against any remedy.
The letter of the Constitution should not be a shield against the subversion of the spirit of the Constitution.
I don’t think the Founders could foresee a day in which the majority of elected officials and judges are immoral party hacks.
Particularly the Court most responsible for upholding the Constitution. Naysayers predict the Supreme Court would never meddle in an election that would change the outcome. They have before so why wouldn’t they now? They are in the business of upholding the law, considering evidence, making findings of fact, listening to legal arguments, determining whether or not Constitutional violations have occurred, if harm was done and to whom and granting a prayer for relief.
If they found that there were massive voting irregularities and outright violations of the law and that these things interfered with the outcome of the election or gave unfair advantage to one candidate over another, they would have a legal and moral imperative to provide relief. That is their job.
Not putting too fine an edge on it...but didn’t we just get a SCOTUS Justice confirmed because of her strict adherence to the word of the Constitution?
If it gets to that point, if you think folks are worked up now...Christmas Dinner will be a real winner!
