International air travellers will in future need to prove they have been vaccinated against Covid-19 in order to board Qantas flights, the airline says.
The Australian flag carrier's boss, Alan Joyce, said the move would be "a necessity" when vaccines are available.
"I think that's going to be a common thing talking to my colleagues in other airlines around the globe," he said.
Australia shut down its international borders early in the pandemic and required those returning to quarantine.
The country has more recently relied on lockdowns, widespread testing and aggressive contact tracing to push daily infections nationwide close to zero.
In an interview with Australia's Nine Network on Monday, Mr Joyce said Qantas was looking at ways of changing its terms and conditions for international travellers as the industry, which has been hit hard by travel restrictions, looks at ways of moving forward...

A private company announced a policy which applies within their own private property. Don’t like it? Don’t fly Qantas.
Voting with your dollars has always been the capitalist way.
I hate Qantas.
Same response from the original post. Dear Mx Joyce. I got something fer ya from down unduh!
Muh free market!
Good luck Aussies...youre not the only airline ...
Considering how long it takes to board a plane these days, it’s quicker to just drive, if you’re just going through a state or two.
You forgot the obligatory “It Begins...”
Driving to Australia may be time consuming, even for the best duck boat! ;-)

Unfortunately countries are also requiring a Covid test to enter. They are doing it in the Canary Islands right now. You need to take a Covid test within 72 hours of your arrival or they force you to either take one when you land or go back to where you came from. It's not cheap either, about 120 Euros for a test.
So you might have to modify your statement to "If you don't like it stay home". That will work for a while, at least until they require you to show a test result to go to a grocery store, get gas, work, etc.
Actual headline: “Covid: Vaccination will be required to fly, says Qantas chief”
Nothing says “kill my business” quicker than having to wear the mark of the beast to be able to use said business.
you can’t get me to go on a plane anyways
zero threat
Screw this stupid bug and screw vaccines
Now, screw Qantas Airlines
Look the forced vaccine thing is a democratic. Mainstay nearly as much as abortion is
Just last year 2019 they try to force measles vaccinations down everybody’s throat here California
we said hell no piss off get the hell out of here
The vaccine industry is evil. End of sentence
Unfortunately they’ve strung along the medical establishment and government for years
It comes down to this this is America it’s a free country -they can’t force you to do anything
Australia’s travel businesses are going to hell.
Don’t fly with Qantas.
The Eleventh Commandment: Thou shalt be vaccinated.
I don’t think you’re in any danger of winding up on a Qantas flight domestic-U.S.... :-)
This is going worldwide. In Canada, within a year probably, I wouldn’t be able to fly from Edmonton to Calgary, unless I can show that I got a vaccine.
Pre-COVID-19, you traveled with your immunization records anyway, as quite a few countries have their own requirements. I don’t really see an issue with QF’s stance.
