CHINA today warned the UK and its allies that their "eyes will be plucked out" if they carry on "meddling" in its affairs in Hong Kong.
The Five Eyes alliance was hit with the bizarre threat after the group demanded Beijing end its crackdown in the former British colony....
Britain and its four partners - the US, Australia, Canada, and New Zealand have frequently condemned the Chinese government for allegedly trying to crush dissent in the South Asian financial hub.
Now a Chinese foreign ministry spokesman has warned the countries to stay out of it affairs saying: "They should be careful or their eyes will be plucked out.
"No matter [if] they have five eyes or 10 eyes, as long as they dare to harm China's sovereignty, security and development interests, [they should be] careful not to get their eyes jabbed and blinded."
China's angry response was prompted by a statement that was signed off by the five foreign ministers of the alliance, which blasted the expulsion of four pro-democracy legislators from the Hong Kong parliament....

The post WW II “Five Eyes” (the US, UK, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand) alliance was centered on intelligence cooperation between the primary English speaking nations instead of forming an express political or economic alignment. That let the countries be allies on a crucial aspect of national security while differing, even bickering in other areas.
Well with the Democrats new love of racism it shouldn’t be too hard to fin up some racial hatred for the Chinese for war profiteering.

Going back to the indigenous, Taiwanese were more genetically related to Polynesians than Chinese. The first to claim the islands were Dutch, who defended their claim from the Spaniards in 1662. The exiled Ming dynasty fled to the island and kicked out the Dutch in 1664, and were replaced in turn by the Qing in 1682, who, after losing the Sino-Japanese war in 1685, ceded the island to Japan, who held it until Japan’s defeat with WW2. After WW2, another group exiled from mainland China, the ROC, held the island until democratic elections 20 years later.
So not a whole lot of ‘belonging to China’ going on there.

106 nations, among them 46 African countries, have no form of relations with Taiwan. There are also ten entities, among them Serbia, that neither recognizes China nor Taiwan.

The United States considered Taiwan independent after WW2 until 1979, when for political reasons, it changed public stance, yet still maintaining favorable relations with Taiwan as a de-facto independent country, including offering military assistance.
One of the nicest things about western culture, is freedom to access information that puts things into a more correct context, rather than simply parroting pre-packaged talking points.

Trump took immediate and direct economic action with Chinese sanctions and tariff’s, and tried hard to keep world markets stable while dealing with China, by communicating to the world this was about the “US Trade Deficit”.
It worked, at least for a while.
The most important aspect of the Chinese economy was, and is, PLA expansion globally. This included a very high annual percentage of Chinese GDP spent on PLA -Air/Navy/Space/Cyber/Global Intel/Influence Campaigns/R&D and expansion.
Trump’s tariff’s and sanctions not only crushed the US-Chinese Trade Deficit, it crushed their already teetering economy.
Many Chinese military related projects hit the breaks hard. This included stress on every branch of the PLA. Trump’s strategy to try and reduce a likely WWIII, also coincided with sanctions and lower energy prices on Russia, and Iran, and overt pressure on German involvement with Moscow (at the expense of much of Eastern Europe), and pressure on NATO to both expand, and to share the financial load.
Every leftist in the world now had to try and end Trump and America on a shortened timetable.
There is no question, the left wing globalist gladly teamed up, (foreign and domestic), both to keep Trump from Office, and then to take down President Trump by any means necessary.

COVID-19 is in part a Chinese response to Trump’s effort to stop them from “CCP 25”.

Actually I think both mainland China and Taiwan, read the Peoples Republic of China, and the Republic of China, BOTH consider themselves the rightful leaders of China.
All of China. And Hongkong.
Mainland, and Taiwan. At least that is my understandind, having lived on both sides of the Taiwan Strait. Though that was the case a long time ago.
They BOTH consider themselves, to be in charge of it all.
Recently, there has been a tendency for some on Taiwan to consider themselves part of a free and independent country, but there is still a significant part of the Taiwan government, who think the island is the free version, of the entire Chinese government.
