Drivers caravaned from around Oregon to the Capitol in Salem Saturday, calling on Gov. Kate Brown to “stop the pause” regarding restrictions spurred by COVID-19.
More than 100 people, most of whom were not wearing masks, gathered on the plaza across Court Street from the Capitol in the afternoon.
In 41-degree weather and with hot coffee in hand, attendees held signs with phrases such as, “Mask = Muzzle,” “Stuff your mandate” and “We will not comply.” Some held American, Trump or “Don’t tread on me” flags on either side of the street as cars drove by.
“The government ... can’t decide what’s best for people,” said Joyce Stafford, who drove from Roseberg to participate. Others drove from Albany, Eugene, Springfield and Corvallis. ”They can’t make unconstitutional mandates and expect people to follow them.”
Brown ordered a two-week “freeze” earlier this month to slow the spread of the virus.
The statewide restrictions run from Nov. 18 through Dec. 2 and include Thanksgiving. They limit restaurants to take-out only; close gyms, museums and outdoor recreational facilities; limit capacity at stores; and limit social get-togethers even in private homes.

The dems are trying to rob us of every meaningful tradition we have. They started with Easter last year.
Their attempt at the Fourth of July, really bombed, as people did a better job of celebrating it than I had seen in years.
I was expecting them to go after Thanksgiving and Christmas this year, and might as well throw in New Year’s although that is not an overtly religious holiday.
By eliminating these traditions, they are trying to rob us of our cultural identity, everything that anchors us of our past and reminds us of what this country stands for and its history. They are trying to remake our identity and eliminate *nationalism* and replace it with PC crap globalism, or whatever nonsense they are going to try to shove down our throats.
We need to make more of an effort this year than ever to get back to the real meaning of Thanksgiving and Christmas.
If you are still supportive of lockdowns you are an enemy of our republic.

Minnesota Governor, Timmy the tyrant Walz, has imposed another COVID shutdown last Friday which bans Thanksgiving gatherings. I know many people will defy the ban on Thursday and I expect in rural outstate Minnesota some local bars will also defy the ban. In small ways the resistance begins.

Lockdowns were going to end after the election. Trump challenges election results and cases go up. hmmmm No groups, cancel hunting, cancel Christmas and Thanksgiving. hmmm Almost like we should not communicate with each other hmmm Since June I have traveled the country, visited 22 states. People are wearing masks. People are using cleaning products and hand sanitizers. Damn, I have noticed they are even washing their hands after using public restrooms. And yet cases are going up? Something doesnt add up

It’s disturbing that Oregon’s new, record-breaking spike started from a dip at the end of the two week COVID-19 quarantine period after clocks were set back on November 1.
I know people in Oregon that take vitamin D3 regularly, no reported problems. But how many in overcast Oregon actually regularly take D3?
So is there possibly a connection between changing clock and rising COVID-19 infection rates two weeks later in my non-medical opinion?
