'I'm going to jail for the rest of my life': What Kyle Rittenhouse told the friend who supplied rifle used in the Kenosha protest shooting

Soon after he shot three people, a panicked 17-year-old Kyle Rittenhouse told a friend he expected to go to jail for life, but that if he had not fired, he would "probably be dead."

The account comes from a newly released video of a Kenosha detective questioning Dominick Black, the 19-year-old charged with buying Rittenhouse the rifle he used to kill two people and injure a third.

“The dude’s sweating like a pig. He’s just freaking out. His face is white,” Black said of Rittenhouse.

“He’s like, ‘I’m going to jail for the rest of my life. I’m done.’ He’s just scared. I'm just trying to calm him down."

Rittenhouse was charged with two counts of homicide and faces four other charges in connection with the Aug. 25 Kenosha protest shootings that killed Joseph Rosenbaum, 36, and Anthony Huber, 26, and injured Gaige Grosskreutz, 26.

He was released Friday afternoon from the Kenosha County Jail after his attorney posted the $2 million bail. His legal team has said he acted in self-defense.

Black faces charges of intentionally providing a dangerous weapon to a minor, resulting in death. He was bound over for trial earlier this week.

Black and Rittenhouse told police they had were in Kenosha to protect a car lot during the unrest that followed the police shooting of Jacob Blake. Both were armed.

Detective Ben Antaramian questioned Black for about an hour the morning of Aug. 26 at the police station in Antioch, Illinois, where Rittenhouse had turned himself in.

The video adds more detail to documents released last month by Antioch police that described Black's initial account to police there after the shooting. Rittenhouse's sister also was questioned that night. A video of Rittenhouse's interview has not yet been released.

Every time I post a GIF of “Kyle taking out the trash” I land in Facebook Jail for a week or so.

No pardon by Trump as it’s not a Federal Crime.

It seems possible...very possible in fact...that he could be charged with Federal crimes by Attorney General Occasional Cortex.

Nope,a President can padon someone for any crime he/she might have committed. That’s what Ford did with Nixon.

At this point, law doesn’t matter. It sure doesn’t matter to the Left, except as a bludgeon to use against us.

I’d surround the kid with US Marshalls, and put him into federally protected status.

If the law doesn’t apply to us all equally, then WE are under no obligation to abide by it.

That kid should be saved, by any means necessary at this point.

Only the Governor can pardon for a state crime.

Agree 100%.

And his comment to his friend makes it clear he was in fear for his life. Clear case of self-defense. Should have been no-billed by any grand-jury in existence. The DA that brought the charges and wasted taxpayer monies should be swinging at the end of a rope, courtesy of the good citizens of Kenosha.

WI will need to elect a non-rat Governor who will issue a pardon. Walker comeback in 2022?

Problem with that is that Trump will no longer be President on January 20, 2021.

I don’t think there’s a jury in America that would convict Kyle - once the evidence is presented in a trial.

Guaranteed if he manages to get off because of self defense, a possible Biden AG WILL pull a Federal double jeopardy on him.

We’ll see.

And if you think so, you should keep that to yourself, rather than help the Left.

I think the first guy he shot would have beat him within an inch of his life. He probably would have had permanent brain damage.

“...The DA that brought the charges and wasted taxpayer monies should be swinging at the end of a rope...

No argument there.

My question is, WHERE are the “good citizens of Kenosha” and why ISN’T there already a cordon of armed Patriots around this kid, saying “Not one inch more.”

If the Democrats are allowed to steal this election. Regardless of what you think, you can forget about 2022. There won’t be a 2024. 2020 would have been the last election held in the U.S. I understand that most have convinced themselves that everything will go back to “normal” on Monday after the Democrats take power on Friday. But they are living in a fool’s paradise and only fooling themselves. Reality will break their hearts. If we allow the Democrats to get away with stealing this election, it is over for us.

Isn’t typical of rags like the Milwaukee Urinal to put in it’s headline only a partial quote in order to mislead.

The full quote is “17-year-old Kyle Rittenhouse told a friend he expected to go to jail for life, but that if he had not fired, he would “probably be dead.””

Why didn’t they put the latter part of the quote in the headline “if he had not fired, he would “probably be dead.”?

It's exculpatory. Goes to his state of mind. This sentence demonstrates that he feared for his life.

Soon after he shot three people, a panicked 17-year-old Kyle Rittenhouse told a friend he expected to go to jail for life, but that if he had not fired, he would "probably be dead."

Self defense for sure. Afterwards he realized they were going to railroad him and he was scared. And he was correct, they are railroading him and he should be scared. So far absolutely nobody seems to have his back at all.
