Rudy has some health problems. He’s fine and is doing a great job. Why is everyone always shitting on a guy who’s done more for the country then just about anyone? Is it because he’s Italian or something?

No. It is because Rudy does not pas litmus test for purity on right to life issue.
Rudy had prostate cancer back when he was going to run against Hillary for the Senate. He had to drop out because of it. I don’t know what his health issues are now, but I’m 73, and I have plenty. I thought he was great today, making fun of the reporterette from CNN. He’s pretty quick on the ball, and doesn’t have brain farts like Biden.
It’s just a handful.
I’m of Italian descent on both sides. Father born in Italy.
I’m on the board a lot (I need a life :) ) and although the heartland thinks the mafia still has the power it had in its heyday, I very rarely see any derogatory response regarding Rudy’s or any other political leader’s Italian background.
Actually, not being well travelled, I was pleasantly surprised at how infrequently southerners and midwestern folks take shots at Americans of Italian descent.
I probably take the most shots of anyone on the board :)
Mom’s parents were from Sicily.
Half my friends speak fluent Italian and a number have very close relations there still.
The other half are more Americanized.
And my nephews and grand nephews, being 3rd and 4th generation...only 2 care about being of Italian descent.
And my gran nephew’s name is Cole :)
He’ll think he’s a WASP by the time he’s 12 :)

By 4th generation, there are few ties to the old land and though it makes me a little sad, it’s as should be.

I’m certainly not a Rudy disparager and I said as much so yesterday on this forum. I was elated to see their press conference yesterday. It made my day. Buoyed my spirits. He won’t see this, but thank you Mr. Guiliani for the things you have done for law and order your entire career.
