The Nantucket Police Department in Massachusetts announced Wednesday that its officers would indefinitely halt new weapons permit applications due to heightened risk of coronavirus spread.

The department initially announced the decision on Twitter, writing that all fingerprint services were to be suspended, but the post was removed shortly after. The law enforcement body said the reason for its decision was that the employees who fielded the applications expressed “concern that they could not safely do their jobs,” according to a press release.

Because, after all, guns are the primary source of COVID-19. For example, Trump is prowling the streets of the country with a gun specifically designed to shoot wads of COVID-19 at people, thus condemning 248,000 Americans to their final passage, so far. /sarc

Hard to believe that this is the same state that in the 1600s required travelers to carry guns for protection.

Seems fine to me, if they also suspend the requirement to have a permit during the time it’s not possible to get a permit.

‘bout time for a lawsuit challenging the legality of petitioning for a permit to exercise constitutional right.

If it’s okay to do, I’d like to be on the board issuing permits to so-called journalists.

Sounds like a Federal civil rights violation.

Then again, so is requiring a permit.

“Shall not be infringed!”

We have the same idiotic reason here in Hollywood. WGA and SAG offices are closed because the signs says that COVID is the reason why they cant accept cash / check / money order payments over the counter BUT ACCEPTING the same stuff BY MAIL.

So in the end, someone WILL handle check and money order payments.

That’s fine, the citizen shall be deemed to be “permitted” until they can resolve their bureaucratic mess. That’s the only possible legal remedy.

We bowed and we will nwver be the same. People on fr calling for healthy people to wear a mask or else. Broken glass republicans hiding under their sinks in masks mailing their ballots.
The same global tyranny that swept in after ww1 is back in style. Souls for sale.
All those people decided to sacrifice their children’s and grandchildren’s futures.
