Very sad news for those families. It’s such a scramble for families of elem kids to find child care when schools are closed.
And there are worrisome, data driven worldwide declines in educational achievement as well as mental effects from all this isolation of students. 100% remote isn’t working.
Europe and many states prioritize in person education. Blue states don’t seem to, in general.
And many international studies are showing no or very little covid spread in schools.
the utter collapse of NYC could be the result of de blasio’s epic incompetence. that would be interesting to see.
Basically kids got zero education this year and lots of personal problems.
Escape from NYC
If I were a teacher, there’s no way I would allow myself to be locked in a closed, poorly ventilated space with a bunch of ignorant ghetto dwellers.
I’d fight it until I got fired.
