Nurse says dying COVID-19 patients still don’t think virus is ‘real’

A South Dakota nurse says some of her COVID-19 patients still refuse to accept that the virus is “real” — even in their dying moments.

Jodi Doering, an emergency room nurse, said she’s seen gravely ill patients gasping for breath — but adamant that the pandemic doesn’t exist, CNN reported.

“Their last dying words are, ‘This can’t be happening. It’s not real,’” Doering said on CNN’s “New Day” on Monday.

A coworker of my brother’s got it. Healthy, reasonably young man. He was hospitalized for 2 weeks and still felt weak and run down 2 months later.

No disrespect but I am telling you that I HAD it and it was no big deal. Secondly, was the friend-in-law also infected with the flu or some other illness? Probably, but we'll never know because that person was never tested for it.

Don't believe the hype because it is killing this country.

There is no way the Flu just magically went away starting last Winter.

How are hospitalizations up if we have effective drug therapies?

We do have therapeutics like HCQ and remdesivir, which is why the death rate is significantly lower than in March and April. However, many of these drugs must be administered at a certain stage of infection and the latest surge in infections is concentrated in rural areas with less access to these drugs.

I talk to a girl in Hong Kong.

She said there are virtually no infections there.

My husband is Taiwanese and it's much more under control there too. The difference is many East Asian countries masked up from Day 1 of this pandemic, locked down at the beginning so they wouldn't have to do a longer lockdown later on, and have contact tracing programs. Also, it's possible some East Asians have prior immunity due to exposure from earlier Asian coronaviruses.

‘so I’m opting out of this herd immunity experiment the “masters of the universe” are pushing on us young’uns.’

well, enjoy your facemask for the next fifty years; I, statistically, have five years left, and I’ll ditch my mask, if that’s ok with you...

“What happened to the “We follow the science” which empirically tells us the COVID death rate is something like.001%?”

Do you have a source for that death-rate statistic? Johns Hopkins reports a *case* fatality rate for the U.S. of 2.2%. If 3% of the population has been infected, that gives a *population* mortality rate of about 0.066%.

Emergency room nurses do NOT see critical care endstage patients unless they present in an emergency room having come from their longterm care/nursing facility. Nurse sees, on her own, a “covid” patient that had this diagnosis added to their older age concomitant illnesses.

But— COVID is ALL she sees. Simple question for any real reporter— “What other conditions was the patient suffering from, before they came in the ER?” Answer 20 to 1: cardiac arrythmias, pulmonary disease/congestive heart disease leading to pulmonary failure which COVID would merely aggravate by “growing on the effusion” of the excess fluids in the lungs. Also know as PNEUMONIA! But hospitals are compensated.....ie PAID by CDC and others for writing up “COVID” as cause of death.

Influenza creates pneumonia in very many pulmonary compromised patients. Influenza is a coronavirus— case closed, and WELL obfuscated by a POLITICAL virus NARRATIVE.

Wonder how many of these are counted as COVID-19.

I’m glad you made it through OK. I was reading an article (sorry I forget where) that said that some people are genetically more susceptible to feeling the effects of the virus because their bodies produce less of some protective hormone so the virus gets further into their lungs. Pretty much every cold I have ever had turns into bronchitis, same thing with my dad, so I think there may be something to that theory. Does youth and health trump poor genetics? I don’t know and I don’t want to find out the hard way.

I just don’t see why we young people are being encouraged to gather in large groups, go to concerts and movies, and generally party on like it’s 2019 in the name of “herd immunity” when President Trump assures us a vaccine is right around the corner. It doesn’t make sense unless the people who started this “herd immunity” thing are desperate businesspeople with a financial interest in getting America to spend more money, no matter what the cost to their lives and health.

According to CDC data...

(1) Healthy people under age 50 have essentially a zero percent chance of dying from COV-19.

(2) All persons in the age 50-69 group - healthy or not - have a 0.5% chance of dying - that is roughly the same risk as seasonal influenza.

(3) All persons age 70+ - healthy or not - have a 5.4% risk of dying - that is roughly two to three times higher risk than seasonal influenza.

Bottom Line...

Protect the aged and the infirm.

Everyone else - go back to your regular life.

Perhaps someone dying of cancer for two years with weeks to live anyways doesnt consider death by covid the actual reason for their deaths if they happen to die with it.

you know who has even lower infections than the East Asian countries...? most of continental Africa, places like Gabon and Sierra Leone, you know those places where poop runs in the drinking water and ‘hygiene’ consists of saliva...think they’re masking up and doing contract tracing...?

You are being encouraged to live your life as you see fit. If you do not wish to go to concerts and movies and the like that is YOUR decision but to encourage people to shelter in place and out and out LIE to them about the risks like the so-called Media and Medical profession is doing is criminal.

As long as hospitals are given Money for covid patients this will continue.

Covid is a racket now....the More the better for institutions.

One nursing home patient says she gets tested 3 times a day! So are they counting each test or by patient?

I think much of Africa has less contact with China, the origin of the virus, and as a continent has fewer people per square mile than Asia, Europe, or North America. So social distancing is easier and there are fewer opportunities for infection in the first place.

Thank you but I don't believe the risk is greater of having ONLY COVID then getting the flu. Get them both and it may be dicey but we have therapeutics that for one reason or another have been politicized.
