I wonder whether in Grassley’s case this may be a sort of pocket veto. Grassley is a sane person and wouldn’t want to just put a turd in the Fed’s punch bowl for no reason. On the 30th McSally will be replaced so the vote balance will go down to 52-48, and the two NAY votes plus Alexander’s abstention will be enough to torpedo the gold bug’s nomination.
