A recently completed research study by Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in cooperation with the Naval Medical Research Center and published in the New England Journal of Medicine has found that strict quarantine, tightly controlled social distancing, and continuous use of masks did absolutely nothing to contain the spread of COVID-19, and might even have increased its spread.
First, the study used 1,843 Marine volunteers, individuals well trained to follow orders as well as the required procedures. Second, their quarantine took place at Marine facility under the supervision of the military. Both factors meant that the volunteers were going to follow procedures much more correctly than the general public.
Third, no one could enter the study without undergoing 14-days of quarantine beforehand, plus a test to prove they were negative of COVID-19 at the study’s start. The study itself was held in a tightly controlled quarantine campus run by the Marines.
The volunteers then had to follow this incredibly strict quarantine regimen:

The masks give people the feeling that signaling their virtue is all that is needed. I know several mask Karens who got infected because they went to social gatherings while admonishing anyone who didn’t wear a mask in the grocery store
My wife opted for our 11yo daughter to do home schooling because I am in a high risk group.
She scored a free laptop from an ALDI supermarket give-away for such children and will pick it up in the next hour (it is reserved).
Now they should do a study of one-way aisles and traffic flow in stores. That has to be the most useless, most idiotic response to COVID imaginable. I’d wager it increases spread.

Not really. Masks are no big deal. They might be useless or worse than useless in some cases. People are upset over nothing while an election was stolen and we have to fight against socialism.
I'd wager there's zero spread in supermarkets. There's close to 100% spread among people who live together. How the one person who brings it home varies. Might be a bar, or just from a friend.

This is an airborne respiratory virus. You are going to, sooner or later get exposed to it.. there is no way to prevent it. Lockdowns etc just time shift cases they don’t reduce them.

Every few years a single school in a large suburban school district would close for a few days when there were a huge number of sick children already out sick. A few DAYS, not months, and not even the entire school district.

It has been obvious from the start that none of the “mitigation” measures work. If they did, we would not still be doing it after 8 months. Of course, I don’t really believe there’s any “surge” in “cases”. I think that’s just another round of the same lies they told in March/April. The tests they use are incredibly unreliable, and I think that is by design. They WANT as many positives as they can get, whether anyone is infected (with a cold/flu) or not.
Now that politicians have been gifted this obscene power to control people, they will never give it up. I am disgusted by the fools who have allowed their fear (their abject, irrational, baseless fear) to allow these tyrants to ruin life for everyone.

A politician is powerless to prevent the virus but seizes on mask mandate an an appearance of action. The public in the main accepts that palliative and goes on with life

I’ve been saying that masks spread the virus for ages and ages...mask mandates imposed; virus spreads like wildfire. Don’t believe your lying eyes, I guess. :-)
