A new vaccine that protects against Covid-19 is nearly 95% effective, early data from US company Moderna shows.
The results come hot on the heels of similar results from Pfizer, and add to growing confidence that vaccines can help end the pandemic.
Both companies used a highly innovative and experimental approach to designing their vaccines.
Moderna says it is a "great day" and they plan to apply for approval to use the vaccine in the next few weeks.
However, this is still early data and key questions remain unanswered.

did the Queen take it?
did Gates?
why not?
I will be vaccinated with the Pfizer vaccine as soon as it is available, unless Moderna availability is announced for a date in the next few weeks.
...and it kills or cripples the other 5%???
I have a question. It is probably a really dumb question, but I am just trying to understand all this. The article says, “ It should train the body to make both antibodies - and another part of the immune system called T-cells to fight the coronavirus.” And they are saying that this then works 95% of the time. My question is what percent of the time is that same production of t-cells and antibodies working In the population even without the shot? In other words what’s the percentage of population who is able to fight off the virus without an immunization shot?
Possibly?
Do some of you think vaccines were invented this year?
They’ve been around for centuries.
Side effects: hysteria, anal leakage, Bidenisms(c’mon man), bed wetting, melting walls, Inception makes sense, heart palpitations, paruresis, and thinking Jar Jar Binks was a solid choice.
94.9%
;)
That's a great question...because that is what the stats show.
Here's another....Suppose you already had it and you/they didn't know. Will it backfire?
You can be pretty sure they never had such persons in their studies.
...and it kills or cripples the other 5%???
That's all they test for in phase 1. Not efficacy, just safety. If it killed or crippled anyone they would not have proceeded to phase 2.
And this will be effective on how many strains of Covid-19?
The wu han flu is now a flu. A typical flu season kills of a number of people across the board young and old yet we know this only effects those who are elderly and those with underlying conditions so its less than a typical flu. We will now have a vaccine for a less than typical flu that many will take until them next one is generated. Another tool in thier tool chest if you ask me its all about control of the masses and they are doing a pretty good job of it
Moderna is easier to store....rather than Pffeiser
And it’s 95% effective
And this will be effective on how many strains of Covid-19?
Excellent question. The difficulty of the answer can be recognized by the absence of vaccines for other coronaviruses and rhinoviruses.
I know one young lady that is a teacher. she was confirmed to have COVID-19 in March and September of 2020. She was much more ill the second time around. Otherwise of good health and not someone that is ill frequently. She has the immunity system of a teacher.
A US company through Operation Warp Speed? How soon will Biden claim credit?
and here is another wrinkle:
WAKE UP AMERICA!!!!
who counts votes for elections WW, AND is a major supplier of COVID tests WW???
Thus is great news. Now let’s get these committees off their butts to do oversight and get the FDA to issue an emergency use right away. Then those who wish to take it (like me) can take it and we need to get back to some sense of normal.
Ditto - wife and I will be taking the jabs as soon as either Pfizer or Moderna are available to us.
And, no, I do not think it will have an embedded, Bill Gates microchip to “track us”, LOL.
I will be vaccinated with the Pfizer vaccine as soon as it is available, unless Moderna availability is announced for a date in the next few weeks.
Why? Unless compelled by a job, government or school?
In the population even without the shot? In other words what’s the percentage of population who is able to fight off the virus without an immunization shot?
95%
