“Itâs been a buggy day with the platform migration.”
I was wondering the old server pipe had been cleaned of the DDNS attackers for some time. Move to a new ‘pipe’ and those attackers have a clear path to JimRob’s boxes.
OMG--that is astonishing to see the booster rockets land on the platform.
Viewing a launch requires a good deal of travel flexibility due to weather and other delays.
They land them on unmanned floating pads in the ocean too. Musk wanted to land the capsule on dry land too but NASA wouldn’t allow it and insisted on splashdown landings. The capsule still does have rockets, albeit not as big. It could launch off the rocket right now if need be and land somewhere.

Awesome!
Thanks for the post. We are watching it.

Watching a night launch from the beach is fabulous and unforgettable. You dont even have to get to Cape Canaveral to see it. Anywhere along the east coast Florida coastline will usually do.
There must be great pics of this in the night sky.
This is so wonderful, watching our astronauts in space. No matter what is happening, it’s good to remember there is so much more out there.
So cool that the engines can re-enter atmosphere and land. Amazing!
The first stage of this one lands(or landed already now) in a big net of an unmanned ship in the ocean. The twin boosters from the youtube link are only used on heavy loads like all the Starlink satellites that SpaceX sends up. Musk brings back everything possible to be refurbished and reused which saves billions of dollars.
Pouring rain- couldn’t 3Dsee it:(
Yes! I watched every shuttle take-off from Seminole County- went over to the coast a couple of times, too.
The night ones were just so amazing. Unforgettable. Remarkable people, our astronauts.
Hence, the name drone ship.
Pretty sure I saw Elon Musk in the mission control room. Front row, middle. Wearing a mask.
Victor Glover is a graduate of Ontario High School in California. Same High School I attended.
Victor seems like an upbeat gentleman with an impressive career. Congrats to Victor during his maiden space voyage!
I found this out from the retired track coach at the high school (we are friends on facebook and both of us graduated in the same year: ‘75). What a couple of weeks he had. Another student that he coached and still holds the mile record at the school got promoted to Brigadier General (in the USAF). He attended the ceremony in D.C.
I am glad Elon Musk is keepin on keepin on with all the grief going on right now. God bless the astronauts
