Florida “Anti-Mob” Bill Gives Civilians Immunity If They Shoot Looters Or Run Over Protesters

This week, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis announced the drafting of a new piece of legislation that would expand the state’s Stand Your Ground law. He is calling the legislation an “anti-mob” bill and it seems specifically targeted at the Black lives Matter movement and the ongoing protests against police brutality that have swept across the United States in recent months.

The new legislation, if it becomes law, would allow armed citizens in the state of Florida to shoot, and potentially kill anyone that they suspect of looting a home or business.

According to the Miami Herald, the legislation is an attempt to prevent “violent and disorderly assemblies” by allowing civilians to use violence against anyone involved in the “interruption or impairment” of a business. The law specified that any burglary within 500 feet of “violent or disorderly assembly,” could be legally answered with lethal force.

The proposed legislation has been criticized by legal experts in the state, who fear that it could give vigilantes a license to kill anyone who they deem to be a rioter, and could further increase the change of civil unrest.

Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis, has drafted “anti-mob” legislation that would expand Florida’s Stand Your Ground law that critics say would allow armed citizens to shoot suspected looters or anyone engaged in “criminal mischief” that disrupts a businesshttps://t.co/tVEgmnWmIr — Hamza Shaban (@hshaban) November 10, 2020 Former Miami-Dade County prosecutor, Denise Georges, who has experience with Stand Your Ground cases in the state, told the Herald that, “It allows for vigilantes to justify their actions. It also allows for death to be the punishment for a property crime — and that is cruel and unusual punishment. We cannot live in a lawless society where taking a life is done so casually and recklessly.”

I used to do that in my 77’ ford station wagon. Only car I had to run my trap line.
If it weren’t for the Dukes, I would of been stuck all the time. They were great driving instructors.

o I never ever stop (at a red light or anywhere) nearer than 15 feet from the vehicle in front. This allows me to accelerate out even if the timid fool in front is afraid to move.

Rule of thumb is the 15 feet can be judged when the front of your hood is slightly behind the bottom rear tires of the car in front of you.

A few years ago, I was surrounded by a gang of thugs trying to get into my car. The police were in view and coming in hot so I wasn’t too worried.

Had I not been on the phone with dispatch and able to see multiple patrol cars 100 yards out, my response would have been far different than just sitting their watching the goons trying to open the doors.

It was amazing how fast everyone hit the dirt when they saw lasers pointed at their chests.

...criticized by legal experts

Unnamed sources? Unnamed 'experts'? Trust me, if an editor told a reporters to get a quote from a 'legal expert' praising the law - they'd get thousands of responses. This is bullshit writing.. and we need to call them on it...

If there is no law controlling rioting, looting and pillaging, it stands to reason there is no law forbidding the onsite executions of rioters, looters, and pillagers.

“I asked a police officer what to do if a mob surrounds my car. He said drive slow and if they start damaging the car step on it.”

At which point (as has been seen) they'll be fired from their job, have a mob at their house, and be prosecuted by the state.

So, we know that you would go to the center of the arena and be eaten by the lions rather than lift a finger to resist.

Insidious creeping destruction of citizens' rights promoted with assertions like "allows for death to be the punishment for a property crime — and that is cruel and unusual punishment" lead to officials criminalizing self defense, legalizing shop-lifting and other theft.

It forces us to act helplessly and be more dependent on their control and power.

Our failure to hold the leftists, pundits, officials and naysayers to account is part of the laziness that has been degrading our culture for 120 years.

Looks like it is time for a new Executive Order for the rest of the states to follow these guidelines.

Colorado passed a bill that keeps a person who is being harassed by an LBGTQ person from retaliating & pushing them off.

“The Republican candidate for Montana’s congressional seat (Gianforte) has been charged with misdemeanor assault after he is alleged to have slammed a Guardian reporter to the floor on the eve of the state’s special election, breaking his glasses and shouting: “Get the hell out of here.”

(From 2017)

He’s definitely a fighter.

Got a handful of these rioting leftist lizards serving time in South Carolina’s state prison. In SC, rioters, including black commies, get charged under the state’s anti-klan laws, which drives the libs crazy.
