Michigan GOP state senators are requesting a full audit of the 2020 General Election.
They have also "requested" a full audit prior to certification of the vote.
Whether they have the power to co-erce the SOS or whether she will just ignore their "request" is TBD.
This is perhaps the single best summary of allegations for MI that I've seen. It's clear, crisp and compelling. and TOTALLY shreds the "no fraud occurred" messaging the MSM keeps spewing. Why the Trump team didn't do something similar is...puzzling..at best.
Personal opinion - this would have been more effective coming from the MI House and Senate leaders..but as neither one of them seem to have the cajones to do much of anything nowadays, I'm not surprised that 2 brave Senators took it upon themselves to initiate this..

the quick, easy, painless constitutional solution is right there
Republican legislators just have to do it
which is likely why it won’t happen
that said....if activists surround every legislator’s home and office and demonstrate....MAYBE they will get the picture

Those goalposts keep moving. Sometimes, it’s no fraud, sometimes it’s no widespread fraud, sometimes it’s not enough fraud to overturn the results so stop looking!

curiously, do we know if the audit happens to go past the drop dead certification date, does that date move? what happens then? IOW, can audits officially delay the cert date?

And other than the power of the purse I don't see what leverage they have to force the audit. The legislature doesn't sign off on the election or the electors.
Coworker of mine in Illinois had unsolicited ballot sent to his mother’s home in Michigan. He hasn’t lived there in 15 years. He told me about this a month ago. His mom immediately destroyed them and called state.
any idea who/how in a state legislature has authority to order an audit?

Nope..have to do some digging on that yet.
That said, they “requested” the audit. I’m sure being a liberal, far left whacko demo, Benson will tell them what they can do with their “request”. But we might also hold some cards on who we appoint as electors.

The legislature doesn't appoint electors, the candidate's party does. They don't select electors, the voters do.
Sure the legislature has the power...they assign the electors and can go their own way if they think the cheating can’t be fixed or the vote explained beyond a reasonable doubt.
If the vote is in doubt....throw it out!
2 senators? They could manage a fart together. Where the hell is the legislature?
If they really want to get crap moving, have John James file a civil rights discrimination,lawsuit against the SOS.
The assembly and senate leaders may have sent these two to make the request; we don’t know that these two guys are just doing it on their own. I’m sure they told their colleagues they were going to do so.
So if they get refused, the full assembly and senate can then get emboldened and get more strident in their requests.
