SALT LAKE CITY Utahs only Democrat in Congress, Rep. Ben McAdams, continued to trail his Republican challenger, Burgess Owens, in the 4th Congressional District after Salt Lake County released the latest ballot count Wednesday.
Owens lead fell from 1,780 votes on Tuesday to 1,697 votes Wednesday after Salt Lake County posted new numbers that put the former NFL player, author and frequent Fox News guest ahead of the first-term congressman, 47.5% to 47.03%.
The race, considered one of the nations most competitive, remains too close to call with an unspecified number of additional ballots in the 4th District to be counted from the largely by-mail election on Nov. 3. Salt Lake County, where most of the districts voters live, is expected to release another update Thursday afternoon.
The district also includes portions of Utah, Sanpete and Juab counties. There were no new vote totals reported from any of those counties Wednesday, but Juab may be done counting and Utah County officials have said theyll have additional numbers on Friday

Yes! Prayers up for him!
Do we know what the house will look like yet? 5 seat rat or something?
You can bet, as we speak, the Rats will come up with enough votes by Friday to beat Owens in a squeaker.
Races are always too close to call until the Dem gets the lead.
Not unless Mitt the $#*+ gets a cabinet appointment by Joe Bidet.
Its Utah, not Chicago.
I read most of his book. It was good, though not brilliant (editing and proofreading were abysmal). That said, he is a very good man who speaks better than he writes (I heard him on Glenn Beck, which is why I bought the book, not realizing the Mormon connection.) We need more Burgess Owens-types, and fewer Romneys from Utah. He should have the seat for life, unless he wants the Senate or eventually a cabinet position.
213 GOP house seats
We gave to him, so this is doubly good.
Thanks for the info
We are still looking good at CA25 and CA21 yes?
Every little bit we can whittle down Pelosis majority is great. If the Democrats only have a majority of a few seats, theyll have to cater to their prima donnas, water things down to keep people on board, etc.
Hope he sends nancy’s boy packing.
dems 225...Pubbies 210...Will only need 8 moderate dems and pubbies can get something through....
208 seats with 5 outstanding.
Owens in Utah
Meeks in Iowa
Tenney in NY
Valadao and Garcia in CA
We lead in all 5
Were losing PA because of the Philly Suburbs. Trump did 100k worse than last time. He actually did better in Philly proper
I think CA-21 is safely GOP. CA-25 is razor thin lead, but Garcia is going door-to-Door to ensure all votes we legal
