COLUMBUS (FOX19) - With coronavirus cases surging to an “alarming” new high above 6,000 a day, Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine is scheduled to deliver a statewide address “to discuss the critical stage Ohio is at in battling COVID-19.”
DeWine canceled his usual Tuesday afternoon news conference for one at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday to discuss the pandemic’s “impact on Ohio moving forward," according to his office.
The latest figures released Tuesday show Ohio shattered its daily record with 6,508 new coronavirus cases. There also were 23 new deaths reported, DeWine announced.
So far overall, the state has documented at least 261,482 cases reported and 5,547 deaths, according to the Ohio Department of Health.

BUT-— the fatalities have dropped like a rock. Positive increases in testing do NOT equate to MORTALITY increases.
They do not- and they do NOT equate to a need to LOCKDOWN. They do NOT!

Starting to occasionally find myself almost — ALMOST — wishing that the cold “war” going on now would hurry up and go hot. It’s like the walls are closing in. Weird.
Never thought I’d live to see the day when I’d feel like that. Thankful that the sentiment goes away quickly. (So far, anyway.)

My comment above was said because I just read on the News 9 website that Gov. Kevin Stitt is warning “Our hospitals are in danger of being overrun” and “Please do your part and wear your mask”.
This, from the guy who promised to never impose a statewide mask mandate on Oklahomans. Sure he’s not. He’s stopping just barely short of that. The moron.
CASES.... they are essentially tracking herd immunity. If following CASES the numbers are going to continue to increase until the threshold is met. All the lockdowns do is prolong the inevitable.
Case counts are irrelevant. Deaths are what counts. And even then, the CDC has admitted that the ACTUAL death count with CV19 the cause of death is only 6% of the reported numbers.
i.e. I take this virus LESS seriously than the flu. Both can kill you, and the flu almost DID kill my wife and brotehr.
