~The FReeper Canteen Presents~ Road Trip: Fort Detrick, Maryland Fort Detrick is a United States Army Medical Command installation located in Frederick, Maryland. Historically, Fort Detrick was the center of the U.S. biological weapons program from 1943 to 1969. Since the discontinuation of that program, it has hosted most elements of the United States biological defense program.
As of the early 2010s, Fort Detrick's 1,200-acre campus supports a multi-governmental community that conducts biomedical research and development, medical materiel management, global medical communications and the study of foreign plant pathogens. The lab is known to research pathogens such as Ebola and smallpox. Fort Detrick is home to the U.S. Army Medical Research and Materiel Command (USAMRMC), with its bio-defense agency, the U.S. Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases (USAMRIID). It also hosts the National Cancer Institute-Frederick (NCI-Frederick) and is home to the National Interagency Confederation for Biological Research (NICBR) and National Interagency Biodefense Campus (NIBC). Each branch of the U.S. military is represented among Fort Detrick's 7,800 military, federal and contractor employees. Four cabinet-level agencies are represented by activities on the garrison: The U.S. Department of Homeland Security, the U.S. Department of Agriculture, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, and the U.S. Department of Defense. The offices and laboratories include the Agriculture Department's Foreign Disease and Weed Science Research Institute, the National Cancer Institute, the Naval Medical Logistics Command and the Telemedicine and Advanced Technology Research Center. Currently under construction is a biotechnology campus that will house civilian and military research centers including units of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), as well as USAMRIID. November 10The Triumph of Forgiveness
Blessed is the one whose transgressions are forgiven, whose sins are covered.
Psalm 32:1Mack, having struggled with drug abuse and sexual sin, was desperate. Relationships he valued were in disarray, and his conscience was beating him up. In his misery, he found himself unannounced at a church asking to speak with a pastor. There he found relief in sharing his complicated story and in hearing about Gods mercy and forgiveness.
Psalm 32 is believed to have been composed by David after his sexual sin. He compounded his wrongdoing by devising a sinister strategy that resulted in the death of the womans husband (see 2 Samuel 1112). While these ugly incidents were behind him, the effects of his actions remained. Psalm 32:34 describes the deep struggles he experienced before he acknowledged the ugliness of his deeds; the gnawing effects of unconfessed sin were undeniable. What brought relief? Relief began with confession to God and accepting the forgiveness He offers (v. 5).
What a great place for us to startat the place of Gods mercywhen we say or do things that cause hurt and harm to ourselves and others. The guilt of our sin need not be permanent. Theres One whose arms are open wide to receive us when we acknowledge our wrongs and seek His forgiveness. We can join the chorus of those who sing, Blessed is the one whose transgressions are forgiven, whose sins are covered (v. 1). Reflect & Pray
Where do you run when you find yourself burdened by something youve done or said? When someone comes to you whos struggling with guilt, how do you advise them?
Father, forgive me for the times when temptation has won in my life. Help me always to run to You for forgiveness and to seek the forgiveness of others when needed.

Enjoying some beautiful fall weather here, and back at work a small bit.

Howdy, Kathy.
A decent Monday for a change or another one full of monkey wrenches?
It was a pretty day up there, though cold. At least there’s no new snowfall for the duckies to need to tamp down in order to eat their supper.

Hi MA!
*HUGS*
So sorry you are having a rotten day, wish it would turn around for you.
Hopes for a better day tomorrow!

Glad to hear things are going well.
We’re still ploddin’ along here and on the right side of the daisies. LOL Life’s good.
The weather’s been really nice but will cool off to more normal autumn temps later this week. That’s fine. We’re happy to have autumn this year instead of summer directly into winter.

Yo radu!
Cold weather has happened here so I helped her move the patio furniture into an out-building for the season.
Not much else happening over the weekend, today I fixed a problem on son's car and played with the pups.
I was going to post pics of Robin's dogs but I can't figure this new android phone out, can't figure how to send pictures to my desktop. Had no problem with my old phone, hmm.
Howz things your way?

Boohiss on cold weather! It sure tends to ruin things, doesn’t it?
You need to figure out that new phone so we can see pix of the pups! We haven’t seen them in quite a while.
Ya reckon the lil wild man will ever slow down? :-)
Things are moving along here, slowly but surely. We’ve had beautiful warm weather the past few days but that’s about to end. It won’t be cold but will feel more like Fall. Temps in the 60s rather than upper 70s. It’ll be nice.
