Victor Davis Hanson: ‘In a Fair and Just World,’ Trump Would Be Winner
Breitbart ^ | 9 Nov 2020 | AWR HAWKINS

Posted on 11/09/2020 9:53:35 AM PST by Hojczyk

Hanson responded, “There was massive voter fraud. I believe that. But, nonetheless, this shouldn’t even have been close–the margins in places like Michigan or Wisconsin, even Minnesota or Pennsylvania, given what he had done for the country.”

Hanson observed, “But who did [Trump] have in his corner? Maybe talk radio … maybe Breitbart, maybe half of the Fox team, maybe not. … Hoover Institution was not for him, National Review was against him. Most of the mainstream Republican establishment [was against him]. Big Tech was against him. Wall Street was against him. Big Money, the universities, professional sports, entertainment, everybody was against him, yet he overcame all that, almost.”

He said, “In a fair and just world, people have probably found a way to show support, but now the way these elections are run. When you have, in my district, 85 percent mail-in ballots and only 15 percent are showing up at the polls, and we know what happened in 2018, with massive voter fraud in here in California in the 21st District, it’s something we’ve never seen before. And let’s not even get into the question of a state like Georgia adopting an entirely new computer system, that was subject to malware and problems with glitches, not six months before the election.”

Hanson added, “I’m not saying Trump won’t fight this. He’ll fight tooth and nail. But there’s something about him–I think he realizes by now: he was so incredibly successful, and he was such a fighter, and he didn’t care what people thought of him, and he understood that, in a tragic way, we don’t have a place for him in a society like ours. Maybe we will. Maybe he’ll come back, There’s always a western sequel in 2024.”

Why not, start by helping elect loyal people to the House and Senate in 2022 so in 20114 you have both houses.

Come on VDH. Don’t give up yet! As Revolutionary War hero John Paul Jones said, “I have only just begun to fight!”

Wife listens to VDH. I do not. When I first heard him I thought he was a struggling stand-up comic desperately searching for a laugh line.

True, Prof. Hanson. But the election is far from over. Wait until the election fraud and illegal ballots are corrected and you will almost certain be invited to the Trump inaugural in 2021!

True enough. But we don’t always live in a fair and just world. And sometimes you have to get down and dirty to fight for what is right.

Sometimes it’s hard to tell when a given pundit/writer
is part of the deep state.

Hanson was almost virulently anti-Trump in the beginning.

Is he trying to force a Biden-fantasy narrative?

What is this “fair and just world” of which you speak?

He’s definitely deep state. I don’t know that he is patently evil, but he works for the other side when the chips are down.

Some are discussing a national trucker strike Nov 11, and then Nov 26-29. I think its a great idea.

The problem with people like that is they are unable to see whether or not the chips are actually down, or if it only appears to be the case through the lying deep state lens.

The Just and Fair World ends at the fence around elementary schools.

In Grown-Up World, when something isn’t right, we’re meant to take up arms and make it right or pick up our tools and fix what’s broken.

This world is anything but fair and just. Only when there are persons willing to stand for fairness and justice, do these conditions prevail. The natural conditions of mankind is is and always been some form of authoritarian regime. Only when the subjects to such a regime resist in sufficient strength to counter the capricious whim of the ruling oligarchy and stand up for their individual dignity and right to quiet enjoyment of the fruits of their labors, does the concept of liberty and equality under the law become a reality.

The tree of Liberty is watered with the blood of tyrants. But even Virginia has now forgotten is very own motto, and succumbed to the collectivist mindset of command-and-control regimes.

Maybe you're right about VDH being anti-Trump in the beginning but I listen to him a lot and never heard that. Perhaps I missed it.

But he's hardly trying to force a Biden-fantasy narrative. He described this election as an existential choice, nearly a civilizational turning point, if Biden were elected. As an historian of classical Greece and Rome and as a military historian he has a broad perspective. So when he talks about existential, civilizational choices he is not sensationalizing or speaking in hyperbole.

He does sound kind of dour in this article but he's a scholar, not a cheerleader. He's looking at current events in the context of over 2,000 years of Western civilization. Plus, maybe he was in a temporary funk when he said this. That would not be unusual for nearly any of us with what's been happening.

Both PA and NV are moving into the Trump column.

Lawyer up, Biden!

Do a little more preparing for your articles, Hanson!
