Here we go again: What happens if Trump refuses to concede the election?

There is a process if Trump refuses to accept Biden’s victory if it all holds.

With the final vote in dispute, states with Democratic governors but Republican legislatures — including the key battleground states of Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Michigan and Wisconsin, the latter two of which have already been called for Biden — could conceivably end up dispatching two distinct groups of Electoral College voters, reported Marie Claire, citing a study by election scholar Edward B. Foley.

In that scenario, those states would have two competing sets of electoral votes, and, as president of the Senate, Republican Vice President Mike Pence would be tasked with unraveling the situation.

He could opt to throw out both sets of votes from those states, meaning neither candidate could reach the 270 electoral votes needed to clinch the presidency.

In that event, the members of Congress would vote for president and vice president.

The House of Representatives would vote for president, with each state’s delegation getting one shared vote, and a simple majority of 26 votes needed to elect.

In the Senate, each senator gets one vote, with a simple majority of 51 votes needed to elect.

Should either of those bodies fail to reach a majority, the plot thickens further.

If the Senate elects a vice president but the House of Representatives fails to elect a president, the vice president-elect serves as president until the impasse is resolved.

If neither body can reach a conclusion by Inauguration Day, then the presidential line of succession kicks in, and the speaker of the House of Representatives — currently Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) — would serve as president until the knot is untied.

Joe Biden was quick to say in June that the military would escort Trump out of the White House if he refused to leave.

How about if the military were to put in a air strike in Biden’s house?

Hot Air— how appropriate cause that’s all this is hot air.

First, Trump won a landslide, and he’s going to prove it.

Second, in other “expert” opinions that I have read the succession line does not kick in until a President has been inaugurated. Thus the person in charge would be the President protempore of the Senate—currently Chuck Grassley.

Even thought there are more states with a majority Republican delegation, I wouldn’t trust a good result if this went to the House.

Only one per state. Do you see? :)

Have a look at this map.

Democrats in the House would probably make plenty of noise, but they wouldn’t have a choice as to whether or not to vote.

I agree with CP. If this were somehow thrown into congress w/o any convincing widespread evidence of fraud or irregularities (and I mean not enough that would satisfy us but such levels that would convince even the squishes looking to ignore any such thing and are keenly aware of the riots that would ensue making last summer look like Disney World), I see at least the Senate voting for Kamala with Pierre Delecto, Collins, Murkowski and 2 more. The house might be more interesting since most of the reps are only vulnerable from their own party primary challengers.

Folks, we are watching criminal government at the state and local level stealing an election right in the open and millions of Americans (i.e. democrats) and cheering on this criminal activity.

This leaves this country in a very bad place.

It is, especially since our court system is flooded with corrupt constitution shredding asshats who allowed Democraps to change election laws in the first place. If we had an honest media that went in and blew wide open all the election fraud, then I would say Trump may have a chance, but as it is now it certainly is going to take a miracle.

And just on a side note, if I hear one more leftist claim “Biden will bring unity” I am going to explode. After 4 years of extreme abuse on every level by these same Biden supporters, NOW they want “Unity”? They can take their “unity” and stick it where the sun don’t shine. 4 years of being called Nazis, racists, white supremacists, white privilege, riots and threats, cop abuse, abuse of a President that was completely off the charts, they can go to hell with their “unity” demands which in fact is them demanding we toe their Marxist line.

“They’d vote for Biden.”

The comment can be taken on many levels.

The GOP isn’t a big fan of Trump, and would likely dump him, I think.

but it wouldn’t take much to flip WI.

A simple recount?

No, a recount just recounts fraudulent votes.

They need to dig deep: dead and departed (from WI), felons, envelopes without proper signatures if they haven’t been discarded. Find about 40K (0.6%) of that so that at least 20K is proved and you have the Republican legislature picking the electors

What happens if Trump refuses to concede the election?

When did we first hear this? A year ago? Two years ago? Four years ago?

Choose carefully...this seed was planted by The Bitch of Benghazi herself. This has been planned for quite some time. Not working on me.....the media and their communist party can go F themselves.

Of course I have NO idea how this will play out and sincerely hope President Trump prevails. The only thing I feel is true is there was fraud on a massive scale. Whether this will be remedied as I think it should be and in the obvious way of removing ANY vote delivered after 11/3 until each one is validated.

That said if the courts persist on helping the Left Trump can both leave the WH and not concede the election since the two are not mutually exclusive.

There is no requirement to concede.

The electors meet, the electors vote. Congress counts the votes then the winner is declared.

Trump is President until noon on 20 Jan ‘21. BiteMe and Kommie can suck it up until then. I am sure Nanzi will impeach him until then for not conceding.

Nice to see all the congratulatory celebratory accolades coming in for biden/harris from supposed trump friends across the board and pond. Flushing these pukes out into the light will make it much easier for trump moving forward when he is president for the next 4 ha ha ha ha ha ha
