Pro-Life Congressman Chip Roy Defeats Radical Abortion Activist Wendy Davis in Texas

Pro-life U.S. Congressman Chip Roy easily defeated Democrat challenger Wendy Davis, a well-known abortion activist, on Tuesday in what was considered a hotly contested Texas race.

The San Antonio Express-News reports Roy won the 21st Congressional District of Texas by more than 6 points.

Roy has a 100-percent pro-life voting record from the National Right to Life Committee. His key votes include supporting the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act and rejecting taxpayer funding to pro-abortion groups.

On Wednesday morning, the Susan B. Anthony List, which endorsed him, congratulated the congressman on winning another term.

“BIG PRO-LIFE WIN: Rep. Chip Roy has DEFEATED pro-abortion fanatic Wendy Davis. Davis is a relentless supporter of late-term abortion and does NOT respect pro-life Texan values,” SBA List wrote on Twitter. “We’re thankful Rep. Roy will continue to protect LIFE in Washington.”

Voters overwhelmingly rejected Davis, a Democrat and abortion activist who fought to keep late-term abortions legal in Texas. A former state senator, she made a name for herself in 2013 when she wore pink tennis shoes to filibuster a bill to protect unborn babies from late-term abortions in Texas. She ran for governor in 2014, but was defeated easily by pro-life Republican Gov. Greg Abbott.

Davis’s views on abortion are extreme. She supports late-term abortions on viable unborn babies. She also has opposed informed consent measures as well as legislation to protect women from shoddy abortion facilities that cannot meet basic health and safety standards.

While Davis touted herself as a “grassroots” candidate, the Washington Free Beacon reported in August that her campaign was largely funded by donors outside the district. These included the pro-abortion groups Planned Parenthood, NARAL and EMILY’s List, as well as left-wing billionaire George Soros’s family.

Tuesday was a big win for pro-life Republicans in Texas. According to the Express-News, “Republicans won nine out of 10 Texas congressional races targeted by Democrats, with one North Texas district too close to call Wednesday morning.”

Yes. Abortion Barbie couldn’t win in her own district, so she set up digs in the New Braunfels/Hill Country area.

I sent $$$ to Chip Roy.

He’s not my fave, but, 1K x better than B!tch Barbie, for sure.

Abortion Barbie was on the Harris Biden bus in Texas when the Trump caravan escorted them out. She’s the one who called the police and asked for an FBI investigation.

Isn’t this the so-called mom and pink tennis shoes who ran for governor? Was this a safe seat?

Abortion Barbie and Beto are like a bad rash here in Texas. They lose all the time but don’t ever completely disappear.

Some media outlet or outlets called the race for Abortion Barbie on election day. This is good news to the contrary!

Was this a safe seat?

No. Although Lamar Smith held CD 21 for many years, the district has been gerrymandered over the years. It now extends from the suburbs of San Antonio to the suburbs of Austin with the Texas Hill Country in between. Davis led Roy for the first few hours because the suburban vote hit first (Biden led Trump for awhile too until the rural votes came in). When the rural counties began sending in their votes, Roy had his margin of victory.

I voted from outside the U.S. and the Texas ballot I received had only three races - president, U.S. Senate and U.S. House. I spent $45 to have the ballot delivered in time and Republicans won all three races.

God bless Texas! Rep. Roy deserves re-election.
