Aides tried to get Trump to stop attacking McCain in hopes of clinching Arizona

President Trump’s campaign aides attempted to stop him from attacking the late Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) in hopes of clinching Arizona, The New York Times reported Wednesday.

Campaign aides reportedly raised various theories about what led to Fox News announcing Arizona for Democratic nominee Joe Biden late Tuesday night, including that Trump did not stop criticizing McCain, a fellow Republican and former prisoner of war, even after he died in 2018.

The Associated Press ultimately joined Fox News in calling the state for Biden.

Some aides told the Times that Trump also had dismissed calls from Republican National Committee Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel and former campaign manager Brad Parscale to spend more time in Arizona during the campaign. The aides said he resisted their requests because he did not like traveling west and spending the night on the road.

Some campaign staff also reportedly questioned the campaign’s spending, proposing that if more money was available to spend in the states Biden barely won, maybe the president could have taken them. But others stood up for the previous spending, as it helped gain Latino support in Florida, the Times reported.

The Trump campaign did not immediately return a request for comment.

Fox News’s call of Arizona going blue with only 73 percent of the state’s vote counted reportedly left the president and campaign members upset. Adviser Jason Miller challenged the call on Twitter and requested that Fox News retract it.

But Fox News defended the decision, with Arnon Mishkin, the director of the Fox News Decision Desk, going on the air to say, “I’m sorry, the president is not going to be able to take over and win enough votes to eliminate that 7-point lead that the former vice president has.”

The Associated Press also called the state for Biden early Wednesday morning, but other news organizations such as NBC News, CNN and The New York Times have yet to announce.

Sources also told the Times that the president’s son-in-law, Jared Kushner, reached out to Fox News owner Rupert Murdoch about the network’s projection.

The Times also reported that Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey (R) was on the phone all night with administration and campaign officials, saying there were more Republican votes to be counted. The governor took to Twitter late Tuesday and said it was “far too early to call” the presidential race in Arizona.

The campaign was faced with tougher news on Wednesday, as Michigan and Wisconsin were called for the former vice president. The Trump campaign has filed lawsuits to stop the vote count in Michigan, Georgia and Pennsylvania.

America is better than Blue.

When you say a “Blue State”, what you’re saying is the majority of our fellow Americans willingly voted for a criminal who has used the power of the US Govmt to shake down nations for his own pocket, who endorses illegal substance use and abuse among family members and in his own home, as well as pedophilia.

We are a better nation than that. A “Blue State” is one who’s electoral processes have been so gradually, incrementally, and thoroughly corrupted in ALL its forms that the residents have been conditioned to accept that their American ideals are a minority among a sea of fraudulent socialists. None ever think twice after thirty five years, of carefully and critically policing the voting process using contemporary digital tools.

What I find FAR easier to believe, is that as of Reagan’s a$%-kicking in 1984 the small number of American socialists began a program of gradually organized corruption of the Federal Elections that has proceeded incrementally across the country relatively unimpeded-and that in this election, in their brazenness, now they have attempted to extend this process into the remaining relatively un-corrupted states.

The American Left KNOWS 21st century digital balloting is coming and that when it does all this is exposed.

This has nothing to do with McCain. Democrats are cheating and have been for years on a massive scale. Time for a national recount. Time for Democrats to go to prison for voter fraud.

All laws passed by Hussein in his second term should be null and void.

when Sky News Australia’s Andrew Bolt turned against Trump tonight (Australia time), he specifically called out Trump for how he treated McCain.

guess he doesn’t know the part McCain played in the Russia Hoax, or Cindy McCain’s campaigning in Arizona against Trump, or McCain’s daughter attacking Trump for years, etc.

from an Australian forum a couple of hours ago, someone noted what I posted on an earlier thread:

UNBELIEVABLE......... (Sky’s Andrew) Bolt has just gone full anti-Trump just now.. Criticizing his st(y)le and the way he is handling the voter fraud stuff.. He is even berating his Trump friendly guests.......................................WTF.. I haven`t seen a turnaround like this before...........I think he is being pressured by above..........................F**K OFF BOLT.........YOU`VE JUST LOST ME..

If McCain were alive today, he’d be in the Lincoln Project.

Any law passed in Obama’s second term was passed by a Republican Congress.

Arnon Mishkin is a George Soros troglodyte.

The same with the Secretary of States in Michigan, Wisconsin and Pennsylvania.

McCain sunk the Obamacare repeal.

He was rightly attacked for it.

After he passed I don’t think there were any attacks on him.

Fake news from The Hill with all the usual biases, anonymous sources and cant? You bet.
First of all we are taking Arizona. And NC and Georgia too, and we will take Pennsylvania and win the presidency.
As for McCain, he can remain in hell where he belongs.

McCain was the one that mainstreamed the Russia hoax. Eff him and his miserable wife and daughter. They both suck up to the people who called him a psycho, unbalanced, murderer and tried to politically decapitate him. They all poked fun at Megan and they called Cindy a trust fund baby.

WTF is wrong with these people?

The whole article is moot because Trump is gonna win AZ.

That second batch last night, they were worried it would be in the 40s for Trump.

It was 58. Just what he needed.

There are rural areas still to come after the city folks.

I think he wins by 2 percent
