As vote totals are close and results continue to return, the Trump campaign filed a lawsuit in the Michigan Court of Claims to halt vote counting until “meaningful access” has been granted. President Trump’s campaign claims that they have not been afforded fair access that is guaranteed by Michigan law.

Then Jorgensen must get at least one electoral vote from the 538 possible to be considered by the House. Ross Perot got 19% of the popular vote in 1992 and still got zero electoral votes. Unless there is a faithless elector like the seven we had in 2016, then no go on Jorgensen.

You know your post got me to thinking. What if we purposefully gave them the rope they will hang with? Aka we knew they would cheat, allowed them to cheat, so we could bring the whole thing down. Super doubtful but an interesting thought exercise. Trump is kind of a genius at these type things.

Not necessarily.
Crime can’t always be prevented - society needs to rely also on after-the-fact crime deterrence and mitigation, i.e., detection, prosecution, punishment and reparations.
For example, a cook or food server might poison our food. To what lengths should we go to prevent that? We could only eat at home. We could assign observers to watch every step of our food’s preparation.
But nobody does that - it is just not practical - instead we make laws and impose penalties.
Likewise, I don’t know if it is possible to have representatives of all campaigns monitoring every step of every vote and every tally at every precinct - certainly all reasonable measures should be taken - but beyond that, it should be assumed that crimes will still be committed.
Any reasonable suspicion of voting irregularities need to be thoroughly investigated - and if crimes were committed, harsh penalties should be imposed.

The state legislators can choose the electors for the state. That doesn’t throw it into the ‘mad house’.

Wolf today ‘boasted’ that the “NEW” plan for PA vote count continues as was changed in early 2019....which is the extension of days to count votes ‘after’ Nov. 3rd. (While they stuff ballots of course)...

Given election law it’s doubtful they can stop the count; however, they can review the process to make sure it meets requirements outlined by State & Federal statutes. This is something that needs to be done on the national level, otherwise this state by state approach is going to lose momentum quickly...
