They always use sharpies here. The trick is with a two sided ballot, you have to make sure the circles on one side don’t even come close to lining up with the other side. Also have to use pretty thick paper stock.

Same in NM. And if there is a problem after you insert the ballot and the machine reads it, it will let you know that it's invalid, and you go back and get another after you find out why.

If there are invalid ballots in AZ, they will need to be hand counted to determine voter intent. Possible delay, but the final outcome should be certified.

It says they were destroying those ballots though. Got me but I’m just finding what’s out there and dragging it over, just in case.
