“The Russians sure are creative and medieval. Using a crossbow, WTF? If you try to kill someone with a crossbow you need to have a piston as backup because it is essentially a one-shot weapon.”
About 60 years ago, when I was a teenager, a wife caught her husband with his girlfriend while they were on his boat. The wife used a speargun to staple the two of them to the bottom of the boat. The husband and girlfriend drown as the boat filled with water and they couldn’t get free. That was in the late summer on Owasco Lake.

He had a very bitter, very prolonged divorce completed recently. My guess is she had something to do with it, wanting to settle everything once and for all.
The killers were able to kill him, but were sloppy, leaving the murder weapon (arrow) behind, plus other things in their rush to scramble away.
