The Chicago Blackhawks announced on Sunday the team plans to open its home games and other events by reading an Indigenous land acknowledgment.
The hockey team committed on the first day of Native American Heritage Month to making a land acknowledgement, or a formal statement that recognizes the unique and enduring relationship that exists between Indigenous Peoples and their traditional territories.

In a statement, the Blackhawks said they acknowledge that the team, its foundation, and the spaces we maintain, work, and complete within, stand upon the traditional homelands of the Miami, Sauk, Fox, Ho-Chunk, Menominee, and the Council of the Three Fires: the Ojibwe, Odawa and Potawatomi Nations.

I also wonder if they will include the FULL history of how the Indians treated each other prior to their encounter with the white man.
Way to go hockey! Joining the NBA in getting woke and going broke!
Coffin, meet nail.
Lets not all get too excited here. Maybe the Blackhawks entered a contest to see who can put the most commas into one sentence.
This was a very catchy tune, even for fans of other teams:

Get Woke, Go Broke.
Professional sports was never a useful pastime, anyway.
Thats interesting that the team feels they need to do this. I wonder where this effort is being coordinated from?
A few weeks ago I attended a water resources virtual conference. The opening remarks were given by a young soy boy looking character who essentially reminded all of us that were need to remember that we white people are merely residing on lands belonging to (or, stolen from) the native tribe, blah, blah, blah...
Before thinking, I blurted out something akin to, You idiot! :-(
This is America hating propaganda. Indians emigrated from Asia. Anyone born here is an indigenous person.
The Blackhawks are from Chicago. The Backhawks are not American

Not too wise. Unlike the other major pro sports in the US, the NHL doesn’t have much of a “bench” for support if any of the die-hards bolt from it.
Here is my land acknowledgment:
Americans own this land.
Land rights are never based on who got their first.
Just like a house one owns, to continue owning it, you must make productive use of either the land or of your life while off your land, to contribute to the greater good (through taxes) to continue owning it.
The people on this land before European settlers arrived failed to do that.
They hunted or cultivated just enough food for their own tribes.
They did not develop a society to have the resources or ideals needed to attract new citizens from other countries. Thus they lacked both the means and the inspiration to be able to defend their lands from those seeking to make better use of it.
The vast lands of this nation, which has now become the breadbasket of the world, did not belong to them unless they were worthy stewards of it. They were not, and thus they deserved to have this land taken from them.
Hundreds of millions would have died, who did not die, because our founders and ancestral settlers recognized the great opportunity of this land, not only for its citizens, but for all the countries of the world. The real genocide would have occurred had we not settled here and rightfully claimed this land as our own.
Liberals are parasites that destroy the hosts.
Go Woke, Go Broke? NBA Reportedly Facing Billions in Losses, Steep Decline in Player Salaries.
And you wonder why nobody gives a chit about professional sports.
As of recently, the Chicago Blackhawks logo was the top-selling sports logo across all sports merchandise (jerseys, t-shirts, hats, mugs, etc.), so having to change their name/logo would result in a major hit to their revenue.
I am not sure if they are still the top seller at the moment, but they are certainly in the upper echelon.
There is nothing even remotely offensive about their name or logo, and there is a lot of history behind it, but in our new 'woke' sports culture, the Blackhawks name and logo may be on the chopping block in an effort to appease the mob.
Clarence "Screaming Buffalo" Swamptown would approve.
