Syracuse, N.Y. -- Gov. Andrew Cuomo today eliminated the ever-growing quarantine travel list with a new testing requirement for those entering New York from other states.
Instead, all people entering New York will have to bring proof of a negative coronavirus test, Cuomo said. That test must be within three days of coming into the state.

I remember back in April seeing electronic message board signs on the Interstates when entering Maryland “NY-NJ-CT travellers: 14 day quarantine”

If you drive over to NJ does this mean you’re trapped there until you get a COVID test?

Two things will become apparently rather quickly. First, the number of people stupid entering NY will be a trickle whereas the number leaving will be gigantic. They may have to covert inbound lanes to outbound to handle the flow. Second, tests are only valid for the time it takes to take them .... five minutes later or the next day, at the latest, you will need another, and another, and another .....

The states adjacent to NY are exempt.

Too many people working in NY live out of state, and cuomo knows this.

You could become infected 10 minutes after leaving the test site and who would know?
And he’s acting like nobody in NY could spread the virus.
It says “The State” - that means they have to treat every “Welcome” rest area like a Truck Weigh Station and funnel cars into them and put up road blocks on all regular roads leading in and out of the State...won’t leave any cops for regular business.
NYS public officials have admitted that NYS is counting repeat positives on the same patient as new cases.
Our stats are crap, too.
There ought to be a warning on all NYS welcome signage: Abandon hope all ye who enter here.
Yep - the irony is that many will be seeing any such signs in their rear view mirrors with no intent to return.
How does that work???
