The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette endorsed President Donald Trump three days before the election Saturday in the papers first Republican presidential endorsement since 1972.
We share the embarrassment of millions of Americans who are disturbed by the presidents unpresidential manners and character, the papers editorial board wrote, before adding, But he gets things done.
This newspaper has not supported a Republican for president since 1972. But we believe President Trump, for all his faults, is the better choice this year.

The Pennsylvania paper emphasized Trumps accomplishments on the economy and trade while lauding the president for keeping his promise to appoint originalist judges.
Under Donald Trump the economy, pre-COVID, boomed, like no time since the 1950s. Look at your 401(k) over the past three years. Unemployment for Black Americans is lower than it has ever been, under any president of either party, the editors explained. Under Mr. Trump, our trade relationships have vastly improved and our trade deals have been rewritten. Thanks to him, middle America is on the map again and the Appalachian and hourly worker has some hope.
On the coronavirus pandemic, the paper conceded that the governments response had not been perfect under the Trump administration.
But, the paper wrote, no one masters a pandemic. And the president was and is right that we must not cower before the disease and we have to keep America open and working.
Pittsburghs endorsement was also shared by the Toledo Blade republishing the same editorial. The Ohio paper has not endorsed a Republican presidential candidate in more than 30 years.

The local endorsements come in the critical final stretch to election day. Ohio and Pennsylvania are once again at the center of presidential politics, poised to cast the deciding ballots to determine Tuesdays outcome.
In Ohio, without which no president has captured the White House since 1960, Trump and former Vice President Joe Biden remain virtually tied in RealClearPolitics latest aggregate of polls.
Polls in Pennsylvania, another state flipped by Trump four years ago, present a steeper challenge for the president in this must-win battleground once considered part of the Democratic blue wall, a reliable 20 electoral votes in recent elections. Biden polls an average of 4 points ahead there, according to the RealClear aggregate.
There we go!

The Left is at least as crazy as they were in 1972, so it makes sense.

The only thing I’m embarrassed about is the way our media has exposed itself as utterly corrupt and biased and how our politicians are either consumed with hatred for Donald Trump (if they’re Democrats) or hide under their desks in fear of being associated with him (if they’re Republicans) - as both sides also expose themselves as being utterly corrupt.
Oh, yeah, and our court system blows big time, too (Yes, I mean YOU John Roberts).
wow!
So all that talk about Trump’s support among the Amish wasn’t a code for “black people” after all? The photo seems to depict REAL Amish.
Wait, what? Todays Pittsburgh Post-Gazette is slightly to the left of Lenin. Could it be that at least some liberal journalists are starting to look at the facts. and not swallowing the ultra-left propaganda?
Id like to say more, but I want to go outside and look for pigs flying.
Rather amazing, coming from the Post Gazette. Pittsburgh will still go heavily for Biden, as no Republican has won any election in the city in decades, but this may mean something for the suburbs.
Someone must have gone in and wiped out the staff, and took over. No way this is legit.
Dont forget the Toledo Blade aspect of the article. Theyre basically old school industrial socialists. Im flabbergasted they got them, too.
The FBI is heading over there right now based on rumors that white nationalists kidnapped the editorial staff and is holding them hostage.
;-)
The Putz Gazzette is considered “ Pravda at the Point” so, it’s bigly.

Plugs sees his “hometown” paper endorse his opponent. That’s almost as delicious as algore’s inability to carry Tennessee.
Wow. Never thought I would live long enough to see the PPG endorse another Republican.
Not sure they have much clout anymore, but this can only be viewed as a positive.
Trump is the most presidential President weve had in 35 years. Stupid press simply cant grasp that his direct talk is exactly WHY hes effective.
Holy crap, in heavily, heavily Democrat Allegheny County this is really really HUGE!
