Trump says he’ll ‘probably’ cancel election night party at his D.C. hotel

It’s checkout time for the president.

President Trump told reporters Friday that he will “probably” scrap a planned election night party at his namesake Washington hotel and blamed the city’s mayor for the likely cancellation.

"You know, Washington, D.C., is shut down. The mayor shut it down," Trump said on the White House lawn before leaving for a campaign trip to Michigan. “So so we have a hotel. I don’t know if you’re allowed to use it or not, but I know the mayor shut down Washington, D.C.”

The president, whose campaign has already sent out fundraising solicitations for the party at the Trump International Hotel, suggested he’ll host a smaller election night shindig at the White House instead.

"We’ll probably stay here,” he said, “or pick another location.”

I think that’s true. He’s worried about the people who attend the party.

He is a good man.

Yep. Our POTUS won’t be anyone’s lame duck—or sitting duck.

Wish I could share in your optimism!

The NJ voting map may look like a sea of red, but the little blue specks of Paterson, Newark, Orange/East Orange, Elizabeth, Camden, and Trenton will most likely be enough to put our state in the SloJoe column.

Actually quite clever.

Actually, it would be fun to have POTUS, FLOTUS and family sitting comfortably in their living room with selected guests. They could make comments as the returns come in.

Nothing fancy, a family setting with the entire nation watching.

Roving bands of Antifa rioters are planning to take to the streets of downtown DC election night. I just stayed there for a weekend...one block from the Trump Hotel. It’s a ghost town.

Good plan Donald. Hardly a business is open now in downtown DC......

When he wins re-election, I hope he starts moving every government department into flyover country with the possible exception of the Foggy Bottom Department of State. They can stay only because we want the various foreign embassies staying out.

Next, we can throw up a nice fence around the monuments, national mall, congress, white house and Smithsonian Museums, declare it a national park and charge a nominal admission for guides, security and concessions.

Congress would have a big screen for a Zoom type meeting when it is in session and well as all the committee hearing rooms. They would be invited to fly into Washington a couple of times a year for maybe an opening and closing session but spend the rest of the time in their home state or district office on an internet connection.

No center of power and no sinecures. Washington, DC would have to reinvent itself as a town catering to tourists, history and museum buffs. The remainder of the district would be retroceded to Maryland and repeal the 23rd amendment.

Never mind COVID. That location will have a huge bullseye on it for the deranged mob, especially if it looks like he’s going to win. Better to not endanger his guests.

THIS! I think he has inside info on the mayhem the Anti-FA and BLM folks are planning and wants to keep 'em guessing and keep his people safer. I'm glad he is looking out for his allies.

The delay will be long enough for the Dems to generate enough votes to overcome their deficit.
I do not have a good feeling about this.
