A federal appeals court ruled Thursday that mailed-in ballots in Minnesota must be received by elections officials no later than Election Day. The 2-1 ruling -- a win for the Republican challengers to the state's plans -- cuts off a weeklong window after Election Day where state officials had planned to receive ballots that had lingered in the mail. The court found the Minnesota secretary of state's accommodation went against a state law that said ballots delivered by mail to elections officials after 8 p.m. on Election Day should be marked late. "The Secretary's instructions to count mail-in ballots received up to seven days after Election Day stand in direct contradiction to Minnesota election law governing presidential elections," the ruling stated. The decision tackles absentee ballot deadlines in a battleground state a day after the US Supreme Court declined to wade into plans in Pennsylvania and North Carolina to continue to accept ballots after Election Day.

What I don’t get is why some states have been restricted to the Election Day cutoff and others allowed to extend beyond that.
Good.
Elections are a matter of state law. Some states have just been trying to administratively change the state law.
In California ballots must be received by 17 days after election day. That is why it takes months for the final totals.

It appears SCOTUS is making sure that states adhere to their election laws. I think they’ve been pretty consistent doing so.
Received by? With our postal service? How about postmarked by?
Roberts will overturn it.
Don’t worry, the Dems will appeal to SCOTUS, where John Roberts will declare a 20-day grace period.
He better not. Oregon has been doing mail in for years. They are DUE on ELECTION DAY.
Anything else is CHEATING.
Where abouts are you, geographically speaking?
How many months prep do people think they need to vote anyway? How did they ever manage to vote in years gone by?
PA. Governor Tom Wolf spoke yesterday and said people should be prepared to not hear a final result next Tuesday night.
Pennsylvanians may not have results that we need on election night in every county. It may take longer than usual to finish counting votes,
President Trump shall win Minnesota and make it great again.

The exception is PA. Their state law states that ballots must be received by election day. The court changed it.
My bad.
Wrong thread.
Hopefully we win without Pennsylvania I am PRAYING for a BLOWOUT!! I want to see heads exploding!!!
Maybe this will force the SC to hear the case about NC since they will have two differing opinions by lower courts.
And some states have been trying to get their liberal judges to change the law.
